Would you use a less common or country domain (ex: .gg) for your corporate forest/domain?
The only time I would use a country's TLD is if I'm in that country, or the business is. Why on earth would you risk letting a foreign government or their relationship with IT services in their country have any kind of ability to mess up your services, if you have no reason to connect your services to that country? Personally, I'm waiting for the day that .io, .tv, etc. suffer something catastrophic for reasons no one foresaw because hardly anyone actually has connections to those countries or knows the internals of their IT governance. I'm surprised there are as many as those stats show in the UK. I've certainly never encountered any personally. Interesting chart! I did notice in my time in Lithuania that there are a few users of .eu instead of .lt. More on reddit.com

How to register a domain in another country?
You don't have to register your domain under a specific country if it's a regular TLD domain like .com, so go ahead and register it. The contact information is just contact information, the domain isn't registered to a specific region, it's registered with ICANN globally. You can put whatever country or address you want. Also a lot of registrars will automatically or optionally hide the contact info and put their generic email and address (which forwards to you if you need it). There are country based TLDs like .co.jp for Japan, .us for United States, or .is for Iceland. These might have their own specific requirements to register, like proving you are a citizen or have an address in that country. You'll have to figure out the requirements since they vary by country or region. More on reddit.com

What Is a ccTLD? Country Code Top-Level Domain Explained
Country code top-level domains (ccTLDs) – ccTLDs are TLDs that are assigned to a specific country or region based on the ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country codes. For example, .us is the ccTLD for the United States, .uk is the ccTLD for the United Kingdom, and .de is the ccTLD for Germany. Both ccTLDs and gTLDs are types of top-level domains, but they have some key differences. These differences reflect the specific purposes and policies associated with each type of TLD, impacting who can register them and how they are used on the internet.
