When the Birmingham weather turned cold, they’d switch to a three-piece suit with a waistcoat. The suits were made of wool and usually worn with a crisp white shirt. A classic 1920s suit stands out because of its attention to detail.

Where can I find a men’s 1920s suit for wedding?
The 1960s were sometimes inspired by the 1920s, so you could just grab a vintage 60s suit from eBay for under $100 and stylize it properly. Make sure you filter by condition > pre-owned (or else you’ll find new/costumes). More on reddit.com

1920s suits
It makes sense, as long pants worn with a suit would get dirty and worn, so breeches were the more practical alternative for riding horses and motorcycles. I suppose they did go out of fashion around the 1940s. Is there any idea why people stopped wearing them, and plus-fours? Was there an effective advertising campaign, which was a reaction against the look? I know this is not specifically about the 1920s... More on thefedoralounge.com

Does anyone know a good online shop for finding 1910s or 1920s men's suits?
Idk if you’re still looking (and if you’ve found anything more please share), but Shelby & Son is a european brand that make modern suits in a 20’s style. The waists on the trousers are obviously too low, and there’s no suspender buttons, and the legs are too short, but the pricing is okay and at least the suit parts feel high quality for the price (they sell shirts as well but i don’t like them, although they’re an okay modernisation). They’re obviously inspired by Peaky Blinders, but don’t only have grey and black in their repertoire, thank god lol They sell on Zalando and Asos, and can probably be found in the US as well More on reddit.com

Twenties fashion is often remembered for its glitz and glamour, though underlying this was a move toward simplicity in dress. For women, this meant shorter skirts and simple shapes, while men enjoyed casual suits. At the dawn of the 1920s, the world was still reeling from the First World War.

r/VintageFashion on Reddit: Where can I find a men’s 1920s suit for wedding?
December 11, 2024 -

We’re doing a fairly casual low-budget wedding with a vintage inspired vibe.

Where can I find a decent suit for my fiancé? A lot of what I’m seeing is too costume-y. I’m not trying to look like we’re going to a college Gatsby party, but an inspired look with maybe a newsboy hat is what we’re after.

Open to renting if that’s a thing, but would prefer to buy since we are doing one photo shoot for both engagement/wedding pics in our wedding attire ahead of time. So would be nice to own it instead of renting twice. $150-250 range?

Thanks for any tips and recommendations!

Was it really typical for well-to-do guys in the 20s to wear suits all the time? - Quora
Answer (1 of 4): If you look at photographs of street scenes in that era, every man on the street was wearing a suit. Even working class men wore their version of a suit, perhaps with a different kind of hat (a cap) and maybe without a stand up collar and tie, but a suit nevertheless. However me...

What Men REALLY Wore In The 1920s | Gentleman's Gazette
The 1920s saw a significant shift in men’s suits. The jackets of the ’20s were cut much more closely to the body to accentuate the natural waist. If you look at them today, they’re much closer to a body coat than a modern suit. Spring fashions in 1929 showed three-piece, double-breasted, and single-breasted looks with full cuts and drape in the chest
