(new to reddit; tried to include this text with the main post?) Hello, world! A lot of people seem to know about Omino Diffusion and Omino Snake. One of overlooked plugins in the set is Omino Halftone++. It turns out to be quite useful for ASCII animation effects! It uses two layers: the source layer, and the halftone layer reference. The concept is that your source is divided into cells, and the luminance of that cell fills it from the halftone layer, mapping the luminance to a Time in the halftone layer. In the example above, the halftone layer is a character fading across several symbols. I've seen a few tutorials on ASCII animation which are fairly complex; this plugin just does it. https://omino.com/store/ has it. (Also has update to Omino Snake for much larger images and movement amounts, also supports Apple Silicon M1 and properly signed to avoid warnings of Malicious Software.) Hey everyone!
Would anyone happen to have this script and/or know where to find it?
I've been browsing AEScipts and YouTube to find the best plugin/script to help me with a project I'm working on. My intention is to convert original images and footage into ASCII. I found a script on YouTube that does exactly what I need called "Source Code" by Open After Effects. The promotional video shows that you can find the plugin on aescripts.com, but after days of searching I simply cannot find it!
People in the comments have been asking where to find and some even tried emailing the owner of the channel but with no success.

2025 has been big year for ASCII art. Saw quite a few big brand campaigns use it. The only thing is that creating ASCII effect in After Effects is a hassle. That's why ASCII Amiga exists.
