I tried my wife’s and it did not allow. She has a learners permit though which expired on April. Not sure when they will open up for that. More on reddit.com

AlohaQ says it opens up next day slots between 330 and 430pm, but I've never had luck with it. Next best thing is to show up and wait. Do it early, because depending on location, there will be too many walk-ins by midday that they will start turning people around. Plan to stick around for a few hours. More on reddit.com

October 23, 2022Why does it take so long to get a replacement Driver's License?
Anecdotal, but got our temp licenses 6/14 at Kapolei, then they quoted 6-8 weeks, but both came in the mail less than 2 weeks later. I registered my car yesterday and seems like summer is pretty busy with licensing. Hopefully you get yours soon. If still not in the mail by week 6, I'd schedule an appointment on Aloha Q to see what's going on, maybe get a new temp if necessary. More on reddit.com

It looks like AlohaQ appointments are "recommended" but not required. Appointments are like 4-8 weeks out - which seems insane. Does anyone have experience with just showing up and hoping for the best? I have a kind of rush - is any city hall better than another? (issue is replacement State ID for disabled dependent.)

I tried Hawaii kai with a walk in for state id, was told it could be a long wait. Was told the Kaneohe satellite had an extra clerk and manages walk-ins better. I went over there and we moved along pretty good. Maybe one hour or less.
