when i used to do renovations i'd use diamond core bits on an angle grinder to cut out holes for faucets in countertops. don't do that anymore, but one of my honey-do items is drilling 1/4 in hole in some plates for the wife's cookie trays.

anyway, does anyone know if there is an adapter that's a female 5/8 thread on one end to a female 1/4 hex on the other? have some small diamond drill bits that should do the drilling but would rather use my grinders 13000 rpm to my drills 6000.

alternately, is this a stupid idea that should never be spoken of again?

Hello, I am looking to buy an angle grinder to attach a bit on for mushroom cultivation on logs. I am looking for something cordless and I like to BIFL. I don't know tools well enough on my own. Historically, Id rather have too much power, than not enough. I will be drilling 2" holes every 6 in along 6" dia hardwood.

I would like to be able to use it for other things as well, just definitely need it for this project.

I was going to link the ones I was thinking of. Feel free to advise, discourage, warn, all tips are appreciated. I have a couple Stihl saws for the cutting. Good there.
