Just got it a couple days ago and was wondering what yall run on this nifty little guy. What works better/worse than expected. Will mostly be cleaning grimy/rusty mating surfaces, removing old gasket material, etc but any and all use cases or ideas welcome.
I wasn't the biggest fan of Menards. I found them good usually for small things like sink and toilet supply lines and such. Otherwise I typically get things from a mix of Farm stores, Lowe's/HD, and of course HF.
Recently I saw someone post about the Silicone Parts Trays being sold for $12 for all three on sale under the Masterforce brand (and thus the forest green color) whereas at Harbor Freight under US General you pay nearly $40 for them all to be blue.
I went in today to buy 3/8" to 1/4" NPT reducers because they were the cheapest after all my searching online across multiple hardware stores and Amazon.
Well while in the air fitting section I saw a High Flow Blow Gun for $7 on sale from $9 sold under Performax brand whereas HF sells it for $15 under Merlin with less fittings. Sure enough picked it up because it was on my HF wishlist.
Walked over to welding for shts and giggles. They mostly have literally local welding stuff made in town here which is cool (US Forge)... And now I know cheaper than another hardware store I was buying it from. I don't feel too bad since there's a difference between supporting a locally owned hardware store I guess and John Menard. That being said, I saw the same exact 100lb Max Welding Cart I bought at HF yesterday with a coupon for $33 (Chicago Electric). This was also under Performax brand and also is on sale for $33, the difference? This one includes a 2 year warranty instead of 90 days and now I have bought enough stuff I guess to spend an envelope and postage stamp to mail in some receipts for that "11% Rebate" bs. Good thing I didn't open the Chicago Electric yet.
