Oh well, we hit the 'do not have access to this card' and submitted - we've now had an email saying "You will receive a text or phone call at this number when your account is ready to recover on..." (13 days time). During the recovery input process it said that we should not use the devices during the reset.

March 27, 2021 - There are also other ways to find a serial number. After entering the serial number and the repair ID click Continue. Please note that Apple will send you email notifications regarding your repair status.

November 4, 2024 - Visit iTunes with your affected Apple device ID and check the Devices tab under Preferences. Lastly, if you still can’t get your device serial number, ransack your home or office for the purchase receipt. That’s it! June 28, 2012 - i got a repair id and serial number go check online but got an error msg said cant find my repair id or serial number ... and the repair doesn't appear if you sign in to check all repairs, then you will have to call Apple Support and ask for status.

They suggested that I take my iPhone home, go to "Settings" and turn off "Stolen Device Protection" then turn off "Find My Iphone" and then turn it on again. The "Ready for repair" status disappeared from the iPhone "Find My" app. Problem solved.
