The only way we’ve found to fix it is to go into setting and restart the appleTV. If we just turn it off and back on we still get this error. When we restart it fixes it while the tv is on but as soon as we turn it off and back on we get this error. Anyone else have this issue and have a more permanent solution. It’s been doing this for like two weeks now. We have a Vizio tv and surround sound system if that helps.
I'm getting this error for several purchased titles at the moment and I'm not sure what the deal is. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?
If you hold down the Menu button and the down arrow on the remote for 10 sec until the LED on the front of the Apple TV begins to flash. Let go of the buttons and the Apple TV will do a soft reboot.
This has been happening to me several times a week and doing this seems to fix the issue.
I fixed mine by just going back to the stv menu and trying to play it again.
In my case I was streaming the content from my iPad.
Hey everyone,
I hope someone can shed some light into this issue. As mentioned in the title, the issue was never this frequent as it has become now in the past few weeks. I have the latest Apple TV box, and its up to date. What happens is that whenever I turn on the Apple box from standby mode, and I play any movie/series, and if I dare to forward or rewind it, it would immediately show me the buffering icon and return that error and afterward anything would just refuse to play on Apple app side of things (same error), while my other apps such as YT would continue to function normally. It happens 10/10 times.
The only solution thus far is to restart my Apple box, because nothing else works. So nowadays I have to turn on Apple box from standby and restart it each time if I want it to function properly. Any reasons why could this be happening or any better solutions? Is it an IOS based issue?
Important to note, I used to have this issue last year too, but not as frequent. Added to that issue, what used to happen was that whenever I would turn on my Apple box, the sound wouldn't play through my soundbar (quite often). I would have to restart my Apple box and power cycle the soundbar to get it working.
Someone was kind enough to offer a solution, that perhaps it was my HDMI cable being a bottleneck of sorts, as I was using the regular one between the Apple box and the 4k tv. So I got one those 8k super fast cables to address the issue, one of the highest rated with most reviews on Amazon. It did work at the time, and the issue seemingly disappeared. Now the sound issue does not happen this often these days, but this issue in title started happening each time I turn on Apple box now. It's quite annoying honestly given how much Apple tv is touted as being the best streaming box but I have had issues with it on regular basis with it.
I would sincerely appreciate any help in solving this issue. Thank you.
