The real answer is A$AP Yams. Rocky is an undeniable talent and just oozes confidence and swagger but Yams made him who he is. Yams ran a popular tumblr, had a lot of followers and influence over them, and posted Rocky's music. Yams also interned a long time ago for other labels and such so he had some behind-the-scenes connects.
