I'm biased because I just bought an Envy 16" that I'm super happy with, but I think you'll appreciate the build quality over the ASUS. The Envy has a lot of small details that make it feel more high end. The glass touch screen feels nice (although has more glare than a laptop with a matte screen) and is more cleanable without having to worry about scratching. The keyboard and trackpad feel more crisp and responsive than lower end laptops. The keyboard feels great to type on. Even the HP Omen that I traded it in for had a much more squishy feeling keyboard. There's a button on the keyboard that slides a motorized cover over the webcam which is pretty cool. (not sure the 17" has this) The feature I like the most though is the facial recognition for login (just like Apple FaceID). No more typing in your password or swiping your fingerprint to log in to windows. More on reddit.com
