I had a traditional headset when I started WFH and the band on top gave me raging pressure headaches after a couple hours. I’ve got a weird ridge on the top of my skull and even with a $100+ one it was terrible. I switched to my AirPods Pro and haven’t looked back. I can be on my walking pad and have background noise going on like a tv or my dogs and my coworkers hear barely anything, if they hear it at all. They connect well to my laptop and maintain connection well either, I’ve never had connection issues like I did with my other headset. So I’d go with the Pods if you can swing the money.

my top 2 picks would be: logitech h390 usb headset simple wired option with a noise canceling mic that does a great job of filtering out background sounds without making your own voice muffled. they’re comfy for long sessions and pretty much work with any setup. the only minor drawback is that they're a lil tight so if you’ve got a bigger head they might take a couple days to break in. jlab studio super soft cloud foam cushions and a lighter build so you can actually wear them for an 8-hour shift . mic quality is solid for calls and you’ve got the option to use them wired so you don’t risk disconnects mid call. only caveat is they do have active noise cancellation so you’d just need to keep that off if you still want to hear your room around you.
