15 December 2021 - The streaming era is so packed with star vehicles and series adapting popular IP that it’s easy for an original show with an interesting premise that’s executed at a high level to get lost in the shuffle. Let that not be the case with For All Mankind. The second season of Apple’s unheralded sci-fi epic — set in an alternate history where the Russians put the first man on the moon and the Cold War turned into a never-ending space race — delivered the year’s best, most assured, most intensely satisfying stretch of TV.

28 December 2023 - Critics Consensus: Part loving homage to TV history, part off-kilter mystery, WandaVision is a wonderfully weird and strikingly bold step into the small screen for the MCU - and a perfect showcase for Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany. Starring: Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Teyonah Parris, Kathryn Hahn ... Critics Consensus: Only Murders in the Building's silly approach to true crime obsessives is at once hilarious and insightful, thanks in large part to its extremely charming central trio. Starring: Steve Martin, Martin Short, Selena Gomez, Aaron Dominguez ... Critics Consensus: Grounded by a career-best Kate Winslet, Mare of Easttown's ambitions at times exceed its reach, but its central mystery is supported by such strong sense of place and character it hardly matters.

17 December 2021 - Here's a sentence we never thought we'd write: former First Lady Michelle Obama fronts this cooking show for kids, flanked by a couple of puppets, namely Mochi (a mochi), and Waffles (a yeti-waffle hybrid – try not to think about it). The grand aim is to teach kids about where their food comes from and how to make healthier, more wholesome choices, but there's plenty in there for adults, especially adults with the munchies, if you catch our drift. ... The first series of Apple TV+'s counter-factual space race drama was pretty good, but it's come into its own in the second.

With Reservation Dogs, creators Sterlin Harjo and Taika Waititi have given TV something it desperately needed: a great dramedy by and about Indigenous people. Set on a reservation in Harjo’s home state of Oklahoma, the year’s best new dramedy follows four teens mourning the loss of a beloved friend as they scam and save after adopting his dream of moving to California as their own.
