Seems like goodwills everywhere in LA are skim. Maybe they’re just like this here. I grew up in the PNW and they were always packed full of treasures. Maybe I need to head east a little ways(?)
Flea markets seem to be mostly trash too. Seems like all of the prices are just waiting for the odd chance a sucker will come through rather than asking a normal fair price for something. I don’t mind overpaying but these prices are like whut
Just the nature of socal? Been here 8y now but..
Hi!
My wife and I are going to L.A. and would like to do some vintage shopping. We will be staying in Santa Monica and West Hollywood.
Do you have any recommendations on specific streets or areas with great vintage shopping? Thanks in advance! 😊

Title says it all.
My girlfriend loves to thrift and shop Vintage. I wanted to take her out. Not opposed to a drive. She loves to support local businesses and we tend to avoid goodwill.
Where do you find the best thrifting and vintage shops around LA in your experience?
I'm going to LA and want to find some good vintage not just overpriced stuff.
Any tips?
My brother and I have been bonding over thrifting lately, he just had a newborn a few months back so I’m just trying to squeeze in some time before dad duties take over completely.
There was a thread here regarding thrifting in LA but it’s over 7 years old maybe we can get some updated information here?
We’re looking for men’s vintage clothing, thrift stores that may have brand-names if you dig hard enough, flea markets where brand names are sold/trade, and lastly we really enjoy window shopping stores that have dead-stock shoes, rare Supreme collabs and so forth.
Ps. I saw a TikTok of an LA local who was mad that people who come aren’t impressed because we non-locals don’t know where to go and I’m guilty of this, if I go to LA I’ll just go to the star boardwalk I know nothing else lol. C’mon on man! Someone put me on lol!
A vintage thrift shop called Jet Rag has this amazing Sunday deal where everything in their parking lot is only a dollar! It starts very early in the morning and is popular with hipsters and high fashion kids. It's located on North La Brea Ave. I have found many great finds from this store especially since it's in the heart of downtown a lot of classic Hollywood pieces can be found. They only accept cash so make sure you bring your bills.
Every single thrift store in LA is a potential hot spot.
My closet has over $100,000 of clothes at retail that I’ve spent maybe $4,000 on.
A uniquely LA thrift store though is “It’s A Wrap”. They take stuff from the TV shows and movies filmed around here.
I’ve recently moved to LA and I would love some recommendations on where the best thrift stores are!! I’ve gone to some nearby Goodwills, but i’m betting there’s something better out there. comment below!!✨🫶
I'm visiting LA in a few weeks and want to go with my friend hunting for fun vintage/used clothes. I already have Lemon Frog and Junk For Joy on my list, are there other stores similar that have a fun colorful selection?
I’m going to LA pretty soon and what to know some cool thrifts to shop at. any suggestions?
Visiting LA from Vancouver CA in November. Looking for advice on second hand vintage clothing shops. I remember going to one on Melrose ave a few years back. Is there a concentrated area to hit up a few at once? Thanks!
Long Beach has a row of stores off of 4th street. Has cool vintage stores. As well as the best 2nd hand store. 4th and Cherry Ave.
Iguana in Hollywood is massive, I definitely recommend it.
If you’re in Hollywood, keep heading east a few miles and check out Starday on Hollywood Blvd. Its really cute and well curated. Next door is Vintage on Hollywood which is good but more expensive. The Starday people will tell you the Vintage on Hollywood people come in, buy stuff, and resell it next door for more. #drama
Everyone I work with is reallyyyy name brands and presentation. I need to freshen up my professional closet and shoes (it’s also not my taste at all, I love basics and chucks?)
Looking for:
1- large store/selections, or possibly a walkable cluster (less time driving from one store to the next)
2- actually affordable (looking at you Los Feliz flea)
3- not junk junk, doesn’t need to be vintage or name brands, just need to look like I didn’t get everything thrifted cause I’m poor
Edit: mid-size, and def prefer dresses for work (easier, looks great) so places with lots of them, and shoes. I have a great sneaker collection but few professional options.
I need to find new thrift stores around the city that have good vintage clothing and new styles. Do you guys know any good stores?
Does anybody know any decent thrift stores? with usually good clothing selection.side note looking for vintage leather jackets
Coming down for memorial day weekend, could use some recommendations.
So far in my research, everything is female focused. Found a great store Mister Freedom we will be checking out but would like more.
Orange Circle is an option but far, so hoping to hear what else is out there.
It's a Wrap is awesome because they resell clothes used in movie/tv production. The tags have the show/movie names on them, and I've recognized items before. They used to have a location by Pico/Robertson but now they're only in Burbank.
My husband always had good luck at JetRag.
i'm heading out to the los angeles area next month and i wanna hit up some thrift stores when I'm there. i'll want to go to some goodwills but are there any hidden gems around? i'll be around arcadia, monrovia, burbank, glendale and pasadena areas. help a girl with a pitiful closet out!
I'm going to a 1950s themed party in a few weeks. Are there any good vintage or thrift stores with a nice selection of 1950s dresses? I'll also check out Unique Vintage's retail store in Burbank for retro reproductions but a real vintage dress could be fun too. Thanks!
Moving to Sawtelle area this weekend and looking for some good stores to find a used/vintage dining table, some lamps, etc. I do like the mid century style (as does most everyone in LA!), but it doesn’t have to be a mid century store or anything. does anyone have store recommendations or an area/street that has many stores? :)
***vintage stores i’m sorry y’all, i’m canadian. anyone willing to share the best luxury thrift shops in LA and area (staying in beverly hills)
