It's worth it. I've done it. I paid $500 for a used pair off a buddy. I wouldn't pay more than $600, though. Just buy new at that point. A20s are the best. I have used all of em. A20s have the highest dispatch rate, best comfort, best sound, everything. More on reddit.com

Go ya one even better. Every year at Sun N Fun Bose has a booth setup where you can drop your headset off for repairs, regardless of warranty and they will replace the ear cups, head pad, mic muff anything broken really and return it to you for the price of a handshake (maybe not this year with COVID) So I had an early set of A20s when the Bluetooth module could only do calls and not audio(music). A replacement module was a few hundred bucks so I figured I could live without it. Dropped off the headset at the booth and came back at the end of the day to discover not only had all of my replaceables been replaced, but my Bluetooth module was suddenly the new version that could do calls and audio. Looking a bit stunned the tech just smiled and said enjoy your headset. No cost. More on reddit.com

October 15, 2020Repairing some old Bose X aviation headset
Hello all, I recently got some Bose X aviation headset and they are in pretty bad shape. The user was gonna throw them away (because they don't work very well anymore) and I figure I could have a look at it and see if I could do something about it. I believe the cable between the cups are at fault (given there conditions) see picture. I disassemble one side to check the inside and I believe it should be ok to cut the wires where they are in good shape and solder some new one. Things is, I have no idea what kind of cable I'd need. Should I just get some OFC cable with the same diameter...? Is there anything more to look after...? Thanks a lot for your help everybody. More on reddit.com

Just writing about my horrible customer experience with Bose.
Sent in my proflight aviation headset including the down cable (remote) for repair. Bose just sent me back the headset assembly itself and claim they did not receive the down cable. Now I have a headset without a down cable which has no use. I told them I definitely sent in both items for repair but they keep on saying they didn’t receive the down cable WTF….. when you send in things to Bose for repair take photos of what you put in the box so they don’t blame you for something that they lost. Lesson learnt.

Absolutely does not match my experience and I own six pairs of A20s. Also does not match all the other experiences I've heard. Sorry you had a bad experience, this is not typical.

Bose has absolutely never let me down. Only heard good things from Bose, D&C and Lightspeed. They are all industry leaders for a reason.
