r/bose on Reddit: Initial setup smart ultra soundbar and bass module 700
January 30, 2024 -
Quick question. I have the smart ultra soundbar and bass module 700 on order. When I set them up should I do them together? ie should I pair them both using the bose music app, then run adaptiq with them both connected, or should I pair, and run adaptiq on the soundbar first, then add the bass? What should I do?

Thanks for the comments. I will set up both and run adaptiq once. I’ll let you know how I make out.

Adaptiq relates to the soundbar only to optimise sound according to seating location(s). Set up your soundbar with Adaptiq (no need to wait until your sub arrives) then simply add the sub using the Bose app when you have it.

Dual Bose Bass Module 700
I have 2 as well and I really like the sound. Btw you can wire 2 bass modules if you need to. It’s not in Bose’s literature but you can put a 3.5mm splitter on the back of the soundbar and it will send the digital signal to both subs just fine. I think it’s a pretty “dumb” signal out and the bass modules just basically say “here” back to the sound bar. As long as one bass module says it’s present the soundbar is cool with that and sends a the bass signal out. Both bass modules are just listening for any signal on their Line In’s and will prioritize that signal over their wireless modes. More on reddit.com
Added Bose Surround Speakers 700 to my Soundbar 900 w Bass Module 700 and here's what I think.
The existence of the 700 surrounds annoys me more than it should. The price of the bar alone, $800ish, okay I sort of get that. 6x woofers, 3x tweeters, big metal and glass build, good software integration, smart home mics, it's a premium thing. But 2x tiny drivers face to face inside a tiny metal tube for $600, no way. Worst value I've ever seen. For comparison, a $500 pair of Sonos Era 100's can be paired with the the Arc and they are so dramatically better as surrounds it's not even close. More on reddit.com
