As titled, I have the Bose TV speaker connected to my samsung TV by optical. I switched my audio output to optical and sound comes out of the sound bar but I can't control the volume using Samsung remote. When I try to change the volume using Samsung remote, I just see optical message come up with no change to volume.

I had the same issue as OP with my Samsung smart tv and Bose sound bar. Instead of settings you go to Source -> Universal Remote -> Theater System and set up your speaker with the instructions on the tv, then you can control power and volume with the Samsung remote.

I have an old Bose speaker, but it works fine. The only problem is the remote control which is gigantic. I was wondering if I bought a new remote control if it would work with my old speaker thank you for whatever answer I can get.
