Ever since I (32F) was a little kid I always wondered why there was a little bit of orange creme in my Cadbury creme egg. I never thought to ask, and have lived with this mystery my whole life. I literally just realized, and did Google to confirm, that there is a little bit of that orange color because it is supposed to mimic an egg yolk and egg white! Wtf
Is this common knowledge??? Is this a custom in other countries of eating candy that is especially biologically correct? Have I unknowingly been killing a special Easter chicken??? 🫠

To anyone here not fully vegan, or just recently vegan, can you describe the flavor of the fondant filling in Cadbury Creme Eggs? Please be as specific as possible.
I am trying to recreate them, but they are not vegan so I can't taste them myself.

the flavour of them is like sickeningly sweet, and the texture is like gritty creamy. It kind of just tastes like icing without vanilla, the icing that goes on top of sugar cookies. I make that icing with aquafaba, so if I were to make these eggs I would just follow a vegan royal icing recipe and use a bit more aquafaba so it doesnt firm up all the way.

January 18, 2018 - The thicker, drier, pastier, grittier fillings are a result of the filling being either slightly too old or having been transported/stored improperly. If you get a "fresh" one, they still have that creamy, goopy texture on the inside (though they are admittedly a little smaller than they were back in the 80's and early 90's). These are my all-time favorite candy and I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to my Cadbury Eggs.
