Can't decide who to give my business

I'm searching for the perf mattress. Some stats about me. 6ft, stomach/side sleeper, prefer plush/soft. Here are my thoughts so far:

Zinus Amazon Mattress - terrible, way too hard/firm but some people who are into that that will like it. Makes a good guest mattress. Didn't smell at all.

Nectar - crappy company, sold me a queen mattress despite it being a full size once inflated. The mattress itself was good but sleeps hot and I always felt like I was about to fall off, the sides sagged way too much. It was comfy but ultimately not the "one".

Tuft and Needle Mint - probably my fav overall. Very strong smell when I unrolled it that refused to go away for at least a week but other than that is quite fantastic. Sleeps really warm but not a deal breaker. Their customer service was outstanding and was really easy with the returns. I'm actually thinking about going back to try the mint hybrid and calling it my final mattress.

Casper Wave Hybrid Snow - ridiculous that this is 3k but it is what is. By far the most disappointing and this is truly a case of overhyped marketing. Mattress itself is comfy but really nothing special. I got the snow edition but it doesn't keep me cool at all. The "cool" feeling only lasts a short amount of time but the mattress gets really hot afterwards. I sleep decently on it but nothing life changing. Def not sticking with it. No smell at least.

Purple Restore Premiere Hybrid - horrific delivery and the purple reps are not helpful at all. The whole delivery experience turned me off from the mattress as a whole. It's massive at 175lbs and it smelled slightly but not very much. The edges are awesome, I finally feel I won't fall off at night. The sleep is honestly excellent and I didn't have any issues with overheating. I'm currently testing it but I'm thinking i'll prob return since it was like 4k after taxes and I'm probably better off with something cheaper like the tuft and needle.

Hey fellow Redditors, I need some advice, and I’m hoping this community can help me out. Last year, I purchased three Zinus queen beds for my condo—one for each room. These mattresses are the 12" Green Tea memory foam model, similar to the Zinus king bed I got back in 2017 (which I still love).

The Problem: Sagging in the Middle Lately, all three queen beds have developed a noticeable sag in the middle. Despite rotating them regularly and using proper bed frames, they’ve become uncomfortable. I wake up with back pain every morning, and it’s affecting my sleep quality.

I reached out to Zinus customer service, but their response left me scratching my head. They want me to provide proof of the sagging using a ruler and a string. Seriously? The sagging is only evident when I lie down on the bed, not when it’s a string on the bed!

After reading some reviews beneath all the 5 stars,is everyone else also experiencing fast deterioration of the foam, especially the Green Tea model. As someone who used to be a Zinus fan, I’m feeling conflicted. I’ve always recommended their products due to their performance and durability. But now, I wonder if they’re cutting corners like some other mattress brands (cough Casper cough) that sacrificed quality after getting bought my sleep country.

SO in the end, these specific mattresses are not considered defective because they dont show a sink hole. so this just makes it so much more difficult especially for Canadian Zinus buyers since we dont get a trial unlike american buyers.

i know mattress industry has such bad rep. but wondering if theyre all offering fake warranty thats impossible to meet? aside from the giant brands who can afford to just give them away, i feel companies such as Zinus are being pressured to offer warranty they can't fulfill to compete with the big brands who price their mattress at x3 to x10 of a Zinus.

please share your experiences as it helps others choose a company since they're all FOAM no matter you pay $500 or $5000!!

Any tips on how i can save these?! maybe a firm topper? any experiences you've had with warranty and trial is much appreciated.

It's that time for me to buy a new mattress, and I wanted to get your guys opinions on the burgeoning industry of mattresses sold over the internet. Have you tried them? What was the process like? Are you happy with what you got? Trying to avoid internet reviews because I know Casper is a bunch of dicks when it comes to coverage of their product.

I’m a fan of the disruptive business model of most of these companies, as well as their marketing, and the design of their products resonate with me— especially those saying they provide cradling, soft comfort for areas that are usually pressure points for side sleepers (shoulders &hips), while providing firmer support for the other areas of your body.

But, with all of these companies being startups, I’m worried about the longevity and durability of their products. When I’ve searched Consumer Reports for some of these beds, it’s only confirmed my fears. I’ve seen the most recent 4 or 5 review for Casper sleepers to be very critical about the durability 2+ years after buying the bed. Some complain about major indentation causing them to roll into the middle of the bed, the bed being hard to move around in, and the bed mainly losing support in the middle area. I know Casper has released a second generation that may have some improvements aimed for better durability, but still, I can’t ignore these reviews.

Just wondering, for those who’ve tried one of these online mattresses, how are they holding up? I’m a side/stomach sleeper ~180lbs, and my girlfriend is a back/side sleeper ~130lbs, both of average height.

Debating on these three and sill def get one. What is going to be the best value? Both Costco ones are 500 and the Zinus is 300. For queen.

What is going to be the best value, safest, and likely last longest? All have good return policies so if something goes horribly wrong, I can get my full money back.

Recently went through Zinus' exchange process and it was a nightmare compared to my previous experience with Casper so Im sharing my thoughts. Both are good at making mattress in my opinion. In fact, I liked our Zinus bed more and found it more comfortable and supportive. Only downside is, they don't last very long and their warranty process sucks!

Thought i'd share my experience to possibly help someone looking for a new mattress like I was but was scared of ordering from the wrong company since there are stories about Ghostbed deducting the free items they gave as free to the return. And since these pillows, comforters are "worth a lot" and retailed in the hundreds, it forces people to keep their mattress when they find out 1k will be deducted. Or even heard of someone saying they will owe money if they return...WTF

Heres my breakdown:

Casper Warranty Experience:
Promptness: Casper’s responsiveness seems impressive. I received a replacement within 7 days from my initial message.
Customer-Centric Approach: Casper made me feel like a VIP, and they were apologetic about my issues.
Efficiency: The quick resolution reflects their commitment to customer satisfaction.

Zinus Warranty Experience:
Interrogation and Slow Response: Zinus, on the other hand, gave me a different experience. Their process felt like an interrogation, and their replies were slow.
Zuri, the Robot: Talking to “Zuri” felt like interacting with a scripted robot rather than human. Time Delay: It took a week to reach a person for assistance.Frequency of Replies: Even after that, the subsequent replies were infrequent—once a day or every two days.
No Resolution and Sassyness: When I got sick of the process and just asked for a refund because the item is out of stock, I was told by this agent named Rizza, "Well, Amazon's return policy is only 30 days and your order was made more than 30 days ago. Therefore, you can't ask for a refund". And proceeded to offer me 10% of the value of my order to fix the sagging(softened) foam mattress.. LIKE WTF?!

Made me feel like I was abusing their company and that I must prove beyond reasonable doubt that my mattress is really defective otherwise I am a liar.
Cost Considerations:

Zinus Affordability: Zinus mattresses are budget-friendly, costing about 40% less compared to the Casper Original mattress or 10% compared to Casper's most premium.
Comfort: Interestingly, I found the Zinus mattress more comfortable than the Casper when it was new and not sagging.
Longevity: However, after 2-3 years, the Zinus mattress starts to sag, affecting comfort. Unfortunately, this issue isn’t visible in pictures, making warranty claims challenging.Takeaway:If you’re looking for a mattress for a shorter duration (2-3 years), Zinus might be a cost-effective choice.For better customer service and longevity, Casper seems to be the winner.

Pretty straightforward -- as the title says, I'm looking for a queen mattress that's preferably under $500. Am a back sleeper and would prefer medium/medium-firm mattress but really not too picky.

Seems like mattresses are really hit-and-miss and don't want to overweight any one opinion, but does anyone have any input on Novilla mattresses (as I read about in NYT Wirecutter) or the boxed mattresses (Novaform ComfortGrande, Casper Cooling Select) sold at Costco? These seem like better bets relative to ones like Zinus and Siena. I view the Novilla as suspect as it's so cheap ($335).

When my husband and I closed on our house at the end of 2019 we decided we would get a new mattress and the old one would go in the guest room. I was pregnant and in my first trimester at the time (nausea, fatigue, irritable) and couldn’t be bothered to research a mattress so my husband did. He found the Casper and said it had great reviews and it was on sale when we got it. We didn’t move in until 2 months after we had the mattress so we only had 30 days to test it. Well Covid hit and our bed frame delivery was delayed so we slept on it on the floor of our new bedroom. At this point I’m about 28 weeks pregnant and thinking the reason I’m uncomfortable is because of the baby or because it’s on the floor and not on a frame.

I WAS WRONG.

This mattress has caused me back pain in ways you cannot imagine. I’m currently sleeping on our old IKEA mattress in the guest room because of how uncomfortable it is. And when I lay on that IKEA mattress that is practically hanging off the frame because of how lopsided it’s become- I feel like I’ve landed on a cloud from sleep heaven. (Also, at least ikea has a lifetime warranty on their mattress). You would also think a new mom would be so exhausted that she could sink into any mattress and just fall asleep but NOPE. I toss and turn for an hour before finally giving up and moving into the other room.

I regret ever agreeing to the purchase of this mattress. It is an overpriced piece of foam and it has solidified my opinion on boxed mattresses. I refuse to believe that any box mattress is comfortable. If a tired first time mom who’s baby wakes up 3-4 times a night -and has for the last 9 months- can’t find comfort in it then I KNOW it’s not a good mattress.

Sorry for the rant. If you’re thinking of a mattress, skip Casper and go with ANYTHING else.

What's the most frugal way to get a quality mattress? I've seen Tuft & Needle brought up here before. Has anyone owned one for a couple of years? I've also seen that mattresses bought from Sam's were actually good. Any tips?

Edit: looking for a Queen size for me and the wife.

Recently moved to a new place and looking to maybe get a new bed. Before I didn't have much room for a bigger bed so I still have a twin bed. It's a tuft and needle which is pretty comfortable imo. But my new place I have enough room for a queen bed, my roommate also has a brand new queen bed frame he said I could have as well. Im 23 so a twin bed isn't the most appealing thing for my age either. Was considering getting another tuft and needle but a queen is $475 which is a bit pricey right now. Looked at zinus and it's below $300 which is perfect. Some people say they run a bit hot so was probably gonna get the gel infused one which is only $20 more since I live in a pretty hot and humid place.

Anyone have one and what's your experience with them?

I've been casually looking for a new mattress recently, so of course all my web ads have been mattress related. I feel every few days I come across a new ad from a new company that claims to have the "best" and "most comfortable" mattress.

There are 9 different companies in the question title. I'm rather doubtful that each of these companies had a stroke of ingenuity and created 9 new and unique products.

Are all these foam mattress companies the same? Is there really a difference? How would one go about choosing among these manufacturers (or maybe re-sellers is the better term).

How can a new mattress shopper separate the wheat from the chaff?

Looking at this decently priced casper bed.

From the materials and build it doesnt look that much different than a Zinus or LUCID.

Is it worth it for $535 or at that point am i better of spending a bit more and getting the more premium models or brands.

It's time to buy a new mattress for the guest room. We bought a Tuft & Needle the last time we needed a mattress, and it has served us well. But they've gotten a bit pricey since then and I'm wondering if a less expensive brand would work as well.
