I have a 600 credit score, two charge offs, and 3 collections. I applied for a Chase freedom flex card and was instantly approved. My limit is only $500. I thought Chase only approved good credit scores? Is this a common thing?

Going on a last minute trip at the end of June and need to buy my ticket in the next 3 days. I wanted to apply for the chase freedom unlimited card but i know they don't like anything below 650. I've been banking with them for about 5-6 months. Would that help my chances or would it be to risky and I should just use debit this trip?
Edit: thank you everyone for giving me feedback. With the helpful advice I understand now, I will use debit for this trip and continue to focus on rebuilding credit. I did create a roadmap for myself when I started and I can say a new card was not supposed to be in the works until Jan 2024. I was in the works of a credit building loan. This situation just moved up the want for a new card but it wasn't really an absolute need. I will be going back to my roadmap.
