I'm remodeling my kitchen. Extending it by about 3x6 feet. The current cabinets are old and there is moisture damage that needs to be addressed, and the whole thing hasn't been updated since it was built in the 70s
I designed a layout in the Ikea app. The total cost for cabinets was about $2700 for 7 cabinets
I also have a good friend who does kitchen remodels, who recommended his supplier which is a Chinese company. He recently and paid $2200 for 10 cabinets. He said the build material is plywood and solid wood. No MDF or particleboard.
What should I go with? If I save $500 on cabinets, I would be very happy. Plus, Ikea apparently has supply chain issues whereas this Chinese company he uses gets cabinets within 2 weeks.
Recently, I bought three pieces of IKEA furniture only to find that all three had manufacturing defects in the sheet metal and were impossible to assemble. Time to look beyond particle board.
Does anyone have a suggestion for glass-fronted display cabinets that are nicer than IKEA stuff? What has worked for you?
