How to open and get access to Computershare account for associate stock purchase plan
Calling the number tells me they can’t access my WIN and need account holder number which I don’t know where to even look for that. And the website just tells me to call, I’ve tried logging in every way I could. More on reddit.com

What do you mean you've looked everywhere on the app? There's a giant button that says documents on the computer share app, it's literally impossible to miss, as it is directly underneath where it tells you the value of your shares. You don’t have to sell the stock but you will pay computershare yearly fees if you keep your stock there I think it’s about 30$ usd but can be wrong you can just open an acct with a online brokerage here and transfer your stocks to them much cheaper than keeping it at computershare but make sure you complete that tax form computershare requires you to do every few years and nothing will save you from capital gains taxes lol More on reddit.com

I decided to create a post on this subreddit for people who are trying to figure out how to access their Computershare account after enrolling into ASPP. This step will allow you to create a Computershare PIN.
EDIT: I have found another simpler way. Go to Savings & Retirement: Retirement Planning & 401k Info (walmart.com) and scroll and click on "my Walmart stock (@computershare)" and it should lead you to a page that allows you to create a new PIN.
Complicated way to do it.
call 866-459-9939 to reset your pin. You will need your WIN, social security number and a piece of paper because the automated phone system will instruct you to type a new PIN and will also ask you to set up a security question/answer.

2. go to computershare.com/Walmart and click "log in" under Associate Stock
Purchase Plan. and click "log in and create username"
3. (I'm really sorry when I say this, but I forgot if I used my social security as my username or my WIN, when I first created an account, but it was either one of them) * I will fix this once people let me know which ones worked for them.
choose username type and type in username (WIN or SSN) and for the PIN, type in the one you created over the phone.
After that you should be in the process of creating a username and a new PIN.
Hopefully this helped you, let me know if I'm missing any details and I will add them.

Hello, I am a young Canadian Walmart employee working part-time at university. While there, I managed to rack up a good amount of stock using Computershare. I wanted to ask what would happen to my stock if I left my part-time job to pursue jobs in the field. Also, is there any other way around the capital gains tax on my stock if I were to sell them? I asked a manager at my Walmart and they told me I would have to sell all my stocks if I were to leave from Walmart. Hoping to get some good advice.

You don’t have to sell your stock as soon as you leave. Your compushare account is separate from the HR accounts Walmart has. As an example, I left Walmart in May of this year. My account is still active and I can still sell my shares if I choose. And the dividends still get reinstated as long as the account is open. As for the capital gains, I’ve sold a few shares here and there and wasn’t actually assessed tax on them. I believe this falls under the lifetime exemption, but double check with a certified accountant to be sure. ETA: Here is the link about stock options and capital gains Canadian Capital Gains
