So my current setup: Folders in cloud storage organized using Johnny.Decimal system. I like this one because No external program needed, it is all a naming convention and folder hierarchy Easy to remember categories and where things are stored Numbers naming convention makes it easy to index/search using an OS or search tool if you later choose to add more powerful search tools Names makes it easy to human search Handles all file types/all document types Refilling is as simple as renaming folders Easy to backup and restore if you need redundancy If you have a phone, you already have cloud storage somewhere. Google drive, iCloud, Dropbox, etc. Just stick a folder in and start. For online resources, I would save a link in a file that I took notes on it. I generally don't find a mess of links worth it as a file system given that hyperlinks change and die over time. It just turns into another inbox I have to periodically sweep. You could also print to pdf and store the article too. That note file or pdf article then lives in the folder. If you later decide you want a digital note taking software, (evernote, Onenote, emacs org-mode, whatever) then you can learn to use the software and just create file links to your folders. I think all note-taking apps offer a way to link files now. Easy to change and grow as you change methods. More on reddit.com
