I don’t know about the cooling blankets, but I grew up in Georgia and can give a few tips about getting cool enough for sleeping staying cool in crazy high temps. First off, a fan is essential. If the night air is cool-ish, one that sits in the window and pulls air in works best, if it’s hotter outside, it doesn’t really matter. Evaporative cooling (fan) requires some moisture. Sweat is one, and keeping hydrated will help. Even better is wetting a cotton flat sheet or t shirt, wringing it out really well so it’s just barely damp, and putting that on you. It is a little wet and may require washing bedding more than usual, but it’s less wet than sleeping sweaty in my experience, and much more cooling. Lastly, if things are really bad, the most magical thing you can do is too sleep with an ice baby. This is the super secret technique that will help way more than you think it will. Put some bottles of water in the freezer. At bedtime, grab one that’s good and hard frozen, wrap it in a kitchen towel or tshirt (it will sweat and be too cold without a wrap) and you want to keep it cradled on your chest. Sleep with it like a teddy bear. It is much more effective than you think at not feeling overheated, even though you’re only cooling one spot. "Ok so first off, just a blanket wont really fix your issue. Youd need to change your entire setup cuz even the best blanket only helps so much if the room’s hot. Get a fan thats aimed across you (not directly on you) and keep a light sheet underneath the blanket to make all the cooling last. Also kinda wild but id honestly recc tossing your blanket in the freezer for a bit before bed, istg it works. As for the blanket itself, its best if you get the bamboo ones. They feel cool right off the bat and stay that way for real long. Or if you need the type which you can use on colder nights too, then get the double sided ones. Basically one side is cool to touch and the others the cozy type so you sorta get both things without needing to switch. This should help imo." More on reddit.com

Sierra has them on sale right now and I'm going to try it out. Apparently they do work but I haven't gotten one yet. I've been checking out the gel ones that you get for your dog, but I own a bamboo blanket for summer and it's supposed to be much cooler than cotton. More on reddit.com
