Basic small kitchen cabinet cost
Who knew kitchen cabinets cost your first born
Are "these places" including big box stores or IKEA? We got the majority of our new kitchen cabs at Menards (not sure if they are in OH) and they were pretty reasonable, and had a couple of different lines at different price points.
That said, 10K isn't an unreasonable amount if you have a decent sized kitchen and especially if you are looking for higher end construction. Are you really going to sacrifice having decent cabinets (should last forever) so you can pay someone else to doing something like painting?
The people who drop 50K on a kitchen remodel aren't throwing all their money away on fancy finishes, they're just doing a full gut job; a major remodel ain't cheap.
Another thing to think about if you're making your own, is you better be damn sure they'll hold up whatever countertop you're putting in - cause stone is heavy. Have you priced out countertops yet? If not, you're in for another treat.

Kitchen remodel costs?

I’m planning on building a new house and am trying to get an idea of the kitchen cabinet cost. I made the pictured design on the Lowe’s website and it shows a quote of around $16,000 to $20,000 for just the cabinets. Is this price accurate for such a small kitchen? This is the material cost, no labor!
Has anyone done a compact kitchen like this - curious about the total cost.
