TLDR: my couch is filthy from cat hair, dog pee, and spilled drinks and food. I think it’s linen, but I can provide a sturdier answer later this evening. What couch cleaning device would you recommend?

We have three cats who shed like crazy, and as of recently, a puppy who’s in the potty training process. We also are just clumsy people and used to do a lot of hosting. In other words, too much alcohol and food has been spilled on this couch. It is one depressing couch. We’ve use a pet odor and stain remover to clean most of the accidents, as well as dawn dish soap with water. While it’s gotten rid of the initial stains, sometimes the cleaner ends up staining.

Not in the position to go couch shopping, and I also know it’s gonna end up like this one anyway so I’m not even interested in buying a whole new one. So I’m hunting for a couch cleaner. I don’t have carpet, so I want something for solely the couch (and maybe the rug near the couch). My couch is a dark neutral gray, and I’m pretty sure it’s linen. I will check the tag when I get home if it’s necessary to know; I know upholstery can be tricky, but I don’t know a thing about it.

If I was a mom of a handful of messy toddlers and a bunch of dogs, what would you recommend for me?

I’m looking for an odor eliminating fabric spray for my couch. I’m a bit overwhelmed at all the options and would like recommendations from people who’ve used fabric sprays before.

I wash the couch cushion covers every couple of months, and they are 100% polyester. I just need something to help maintain in between washes.

I have one small dog who loves to lay on the couch so he is the main reason it gets stinky. I’ve tried couch covers off of amazon to help but due to the weird shape of my couch they don’t fit.
