The requirements for Foundational Computer Science courses are identical for both programs. However, you will take a wider breadth of CS courses and gain a stronger foundation in mathematics in the BS. You will also be required to complete a senior capstone project or senior thesis. How is the BA in Computer Science program at CU Boulder? Is this going to affect securing internships and employment (mainly interested in technical job after graduation) later? I have option to do BS in CS at other schools, but exploring if it would be okay to do BA in CS?

The BA is fucking awesome. I was able to get a minor in philosophy and take so many electives while completing my CS degree.

They’re essentially the same with the BS requiring a shit ton of more science/CS courses. The BA is going to require a lot of arts and sciences courses in its place. So my opinion is that, unless you’re looking to get into some high end engineering job that deals with hardware, stick with the BA. You’ll still have the option to do any of the hard classes that’s required by the BS, but you have more freedom.
