I have been messing around with the new version of DCU on our TS and cannot seem to get it installed.
I created an application with the following install code:
Dell-Command-Update-Windows-Universal-Application_P4DJW_WIN64_5.5.0_A00.EXE /s
I am reading this new version of DCU now needs .NET 8.0.12 or higher Created .NET as a dependency
I have been using the below command to apply all of the Dell command updates during the TS:
cmd /c "C:\Program Files\Dell\CommandUpdate\dcu-cli.exe" /applyUpdates -outputLog=c:\Admin\DellUpdatelogs\dcu.log
This similar setup was working with 5.4 for year or so now.
Any help is appreciated, thanks.

You need net8 installed first

Everyone will tell you just install net8 first, but majority of us know you probably already did. This is the fix that I found and is working for me. The issue is it's corrupting the security rights for the C:\ProgramData\Dell folder. You have to attempt the install, take ownership of the dell folder, reset rights, delete folder, install, profit. We recently did a slow release by installing Dell Command Update in new images (so not directly from Intune) and configuring it to update itself via the Intune ADMX. So right now, only about 5% of devices have Dell Command Update. We have it configured to update once per month.

Hi! Today I have encountered this issue while I was preparing a Dell Precision workstation at work. Finally, making some searches and tests on the computer I have found out that Dell Command Update 5.5 requires '.Net Desktop Runtime 8' to be installed previously on the system. You can download the installer from the following URL: Download .NET 8.0 (Linux, macOS, and Windows) (Maybe installing just '.NET Runtime 8' instead of '.Net Desktop Runtime 8' is enough, I haven´t tested it yet.) I hope it helps more people with the same trouble. Regards!

Something has definitely changed with the installation of Dell Update Command. I've tried to install version 5.5 on 3 new freshly installed Windows 11 computers, and each time I get the 'The wizard was interupted before Dell Command|Update could be completely installed' error. I have to perform the updates thru the Dell support website now.
