You might wanna look at eBay instead of waiting for a new coupon drop. I grabbed my Dell G15 there last month for like 35% off retail, sealed box, still under Dell warranty. All of the available codes are in the blue "coupons" tab at the top of the dell outlet page when you are looking at products, or "deals" tab on the page before that. They change very often, so keep checking. Sometimes you can get 20% off. You can also get 3% off if you chat and use a chat rep to purchase through.

Curious about a bunch of the laptops on sale on Dells website. Many of them have the word “used” before the model number. I asked sales chat support and they said it did not mean the laptop was used. But the savings on some of them are up to almost $500 depending on the configuration. Im skeptical.

Any computer on Dell.com is a new computer. Dell does sell used (refurbished) systems, but those are sold on the Dell Outlet . Dell prebuilds some systems (Sold at retail outlets or listed as ready to order on Dell.com ) all other systems are custom builds. Dellrefurbished is not official. Only Dell Outlet there is

So far, I've had good luck with them. I bought a Dell Precision 7520 for around $280 on sale and I just got another Dell Precision (this time a 7530) for $405 after coupons (one from the site itself, and another from Capital One Shopping). I haven't received the latter computer yet, but the first one works great. The first one was Refurb Grade A, and the second is rated as Refurb Grade B, so I assume it will be cosmetically a bit rougher.

What benefits are there to buying a refurbished computer from Dell? I literally got the one I'm using now on Monday at 50% off and now I see computers with way better specifications and cheaper prices with a two year warranty on eBay! As far as I know there is nothing I'm getting from them...

7/23: My SD card reader doesn't work and the power cord just falls out of the computer....

I personally prefer buying refurbished laptops from this store on eBay https://ebay.us/refurbishedGadgets because you can find great deals at lower prices and some sellers offer good warranties and return policies. Just make sure to check the seller’s ratings and reviews before purchasing to make sure you're getting a reliable product. It can be a bit riskier, but the savings are usually worth it for me. #ad

Are there ways/workarounds/loopholes to get the $200 semi-annual credit by purchasing at Dell’s own DellRefurbished.com?

UPDATE 2 MOS HENCE: Finally gave it a whirl. I got the $200 credit qualification in < 2wks, even though I bought @ Dell Refurbished. No special intervention on my part. And, bonus, the A-grade refurbished laptop was literally 100% brand new cosmetically and electronically (per battery stats; it was built in 2019). Not a single blemish, fingerprint or anything.

Not that I know of. You shop at Dell.com , not at its outlet or you don’t get the $200 credit.

Ok, I think just noticed a loophole. As of this writing, DellRefurbished website says “Dell Technologies” right at the top of the page. That seems like a means to get credit, at least through escalation/protest. The membership offer states: Enroll and get up to $400 in statement credits per year toward U.S. purchases with Dell Technologies on your Business Platinum Card. That’s up to $200 back semi-annually.‡ The offer details say, inter alia: Valid only with purchases made with Dell Technologies or at dell.com in the US and US territories where Dell Technologies is the merchant of record for the purchase. ^ seems to me there’s no way a purchaser can be expected to discriminate and know in advance who the “merchant of record” is. IANAL but IMHO, a failure to honor the credit would constitute a UDAAP (maybe UDAP since biz card, but I’m a sole prop) issue. (My purchase of a refurb is not a given, but if I do I’ll report back re: credit success.)
