This site shows LED error codes for the XPS 13 2-in-1, and I'm guessing the codes are the same on the XPS 13 7350:  Here are the codes from the site: LED Error Codes Amber/White Error 2/1 CPU Failure 2/2 System board, BIOS or ROM failure 2/3 No RAM detected 2/4 RAM failure 2/5 Invalid RAM installed 2/6 System board or chipset error 2/7 LCD failure 3/1 CMOS battery failure 3/2 PCI or video card or chip failure 3/3 Recovery image not found 3/4 Recovery image found but not accessible With 2 amber/7 white, it looks like the OP is getting a report of an LCD failure. My guess is that the test is just getting an incorrect result triggered by the given on/off/open/close sequence. Answer from burghart on dell.com

MOBIDUTCH, The front LED indicates the battery charge state. White Battery is getting charged. Amber Battery is low or critical. Off Computer is plugged in and the battery is fully charged. I am assuming you heard about all of this directly from the phone technician.  I checked to see if there was further diagnostic indicators and I didn't find any listed anywhere. There where a number of diagnostic beep codes for the notebook One Possible system board failure - BIOS ROM checksum failure Two No RAM detected. Three Possible system board failure - Chipset error Four RAM read/write failure Five Real Time Clock failure Six Video card or chip failure Seven Processor failure Eight Display failure Did you notice any beep codes when this happens or only the LED flashing? I don't think that there is anything wrong with the system but I will be shooting you a friend request incase something further happens.   TB

r/techsupport on Reddit: Way to disable blinking error codes for Dell (XPS)?
October 11, 2023 -

I broke the screen of my Dell XPS 13 (2020) by managing to trip over the cable so hard the laptop fell from my desk.

Dell support wasn't particularly helpful in quoting me a price before doing the replacement, so I decided to do it myself. No biggy, I've done this stuff before, and I replaced it without any issues.

Except of course there's an issue now. The big LED on the laptop keeps giving me the error code for a broken display (2 Yellow, 7 White blinks). The new display works without issue and funnily enough, the blinking only happens when I run it in battery mode or with a power supply other than the original Dell one. (Sometimes it's fine if I start with the power supply connected and then remove it, sometimes it's not...)

I have no idea why this is happening. I triple checked the display connection, I ran diagnostics, and it can't find anything, but the blinking won't go away. Since the laptop works perfectly fine, at this point I really just want to get rid of the blinking. So that's my question: Is there a way to just disable these blinking error codes? I've scoured the BIOS, but I can't find anything.

I know I'm potentially risking missing a different issue (if disabling is even possible) but I'm really, really annoyed, and I'm willing to live with this. Would resetting CMOS by removing the battery be enough?

October 31, 2010 - ON - FLASHING - ON = memory error code. FLASHING - FLASHING - ON = video error code. FLASHING - ON - FLASHING = LCD error code. ... Well, as it turns out I fixed the problem by changing the CMOS battery (which requires a complete disassembly of the computer - nice design Dell).

May 20, 2022 - Not sure why it isn't POSTing yet but the LEDs so seem to indicate a pattern. The initial half, with the two amber lights, represents that. The number of white blinks after that tells us exactly what is wrong.

r/Dell on Reddit: Dell XPS 9310 blink code indicating memory failure. Any way to confirm with secondary diagnostics?
June 19, 2023 -

I bought the laptop in 2021, and the warranty is now expired otherwise I'd have immediately started the RMA process.

I put it on the charger overnight and woke the next morning to work on the laptop. It blue screened once, and booted back up. After a minute or two on the desktop, it blue screened again and upon rebooting it gave me 2 yellow, 4 white blinks.

This indicates a memory failure. Is there any way to perform any other on-board diagnostic to confirm?

Failing this, am I stuck with a paperweight? A replacement mobo (since the memory modules are soldered...) seems like just throwing good money after bad, and I'm not sure I'm keen on sticking with Dell after this. It's supremely disappointing to have a laptop die after such a short period of time.

If there's no other repair I can pursue, is there anything I can do to salvage parts out of it? I'd hate to contribute to the e-waste situation with an otherwise immaculate device. It'd be nice to use the screen for example.

Otherwise, I guess my best bet would be to sell for parts or scrap?
