Marketing Agency Pricing: How Much They Charge + What to Spend
April 17, 2025 - This can cost anywhere from $1,500 per month for select services to $10,000 or so per month for full-suite digital marketing services covering multiple tactics, like: ... Why such a wide price gap?
How much to expect to pay a good Digital Marketing Agency?
Agency exec here but spent 10 years of my 20+ years on the client side of things (would love to help you!) - most quality agencies charge hourly or a flat fee based on an estimation of hours per month. So - it should be dependent on the services that you need. Agency fees can vary based on experience from $50/hour to $500/hour. I’d anticipate a minimum of $500-$1,000/month in just fees before ad spend dependent on your needs and that could always be more if you need more in services. There are SO MANY agencies out there that are one-person shows that farm work out or those that just got started - took a class - and now are experts. Let’s just say that agencies that seem too good to be true are too good to be true. I would look at their track record, website, clients, and ask about their client retention. Results vary by client for a variety of reasons but look for those that are honest, fair, and really want to help you. If they’re trying to sell you a method or otherwise - again it’s likely too good to be true. Just my two cents. More on reddit.com
How should i price my services for running/handling Facebook ads?
Hey there, Will all come down on what work you are doing for them. Are you just gonna be doing the Ads? Or are you planning on doing A/B Testing, creating audiences, optimizing, etc? If you are offering full optimization, A/B Testing, etc... You can charger between 10% to 20% of Ads spend. For example, if your client is spending $1,000 monthly in ads, you get 10% - 20% of that (either $100 or $200). This is low for an agency but its a good model for beginners freelancer. Other option is to have a fixed monthly retainer fee which will cover part of your basic expenses, plus a % of ad spend. Lets pretend that you are using some software to optimize ads and for landing page creation. You can charge the client to cover part of your overhead expenses. For example, you have subscriptions to 2 software. You can charge your clients $300 monthly retainer fee plus 10% - 20% of Ads spend. So if we use the same budget from above, you will get $100 (10% of ad Spend) + $300 of the retainer, total of $400 / month. The one that I personally use, as a freelancer with 7+ years of experience, is profit share. There are some ways of doing this but the 2 examples that I'm going to mention are the ones that I use more often. I talked to my clients about their goals and determined that they will be happy with 100% of Return on Ad Spend, meaning that if they spend $1 dollar in advertising the return should be $2 dollars in revenue for the company. Depending on the company, industry, etc, I tell them that I can bring that 100% of ROAS and whatever I bring additional to the 100% ROAS I'll take it as my payment. So, if they want 100% of ROAS, and I bring 200% of ROAS, I get to keep the additional 100%. In some occasions, when clients see how much you are cutting then want to renegotiate which lead to scenario #2 below. The other billing method I use is to charge a % of profit share. Let say that I'm doing Facebook Ads for wallets, and in the last month my clients generate $1,000 in revenue through Facebook Ads. Now, lets say that my client has 50% margin in profit. Meaning that from those $1,000 dollars, they use $500 to pay overhead and employees and the company generates $500 in profit. In this case, I will charge a 30% of profit share, meaning that I get to keep 30% of that $500 dollars profit the company generated. Profit share is where the big bucks are. I started with the first model that I mentioned and when I understood and learn what I was doing, I moved to the profit share model and its amazing how much money you can make. But you need to be GOOD at it and know what you are doing first. I have my regular full-time job and I take up 2 to 3 clients each year and do ads form them which is additional 10 to 15 hours more of work per week and there are years that I make more money with my freelancing that my regular job. But again, will all depend on the company that you are working with, their market, industry, profit margins, etc. The bad of profit share. You are at your clients mercy and honesty, if you cant trust your client don't go for the profit share model because they might manipulate the numbers. You need to make them agree to have full transparency with their numbers with you. Also, you wont be able to take 30% of profit share always, sometimes will be 5% sometimes will be over 30%. You need to be able to negotiate. It all comes down to the business and industry your client is in. Let me know if you have any questions. More on reddit.com
How much should I charge for digital marketing?
Start lower than you’re comfortable with while building a client list, once you have a few clients, slowly raise prices for new and existing clients to a level that is comparable to competitors. This way you attract clients by price advantage at first, and over time you keep them and get more due to quality of your product. More on reddit.com
