September 15, 2023 - The Six Peaks Dinosaur Track Site is located near the community of Hudson’s Hope in northeastern British Columbia. It was discovered in 2008 and first formally studied by an international team of experts in 2016. Preserving more than 50 different sets of dinosaur tracks dating to the Early Cretaceous, around 120 million years ago, the site is regarded as one of the top 10 most important fossil trackways yet found in North America.

While dinosaur remains have been discovered in provinces and territories in addition to those listed below (namely in Nova Scotia, Nunavut, the Northwest Territories and Yukon), the fossils from these places are often not complete enough to identify to which species they belonged or have not yet been the subject of detailed scientific study. In the case of Nova Scotia, paleontologists have found fossils of a primitive armoured dinosaur, sometimes called Scutellosaurus, and of a long-necked, planting-eating dinosaur, informally called Fendusaurus eldoni.
