Any Free/DIY/Low-Cost Christmas Traditions or Gift Ideas? 🎄
Realizing that certain family members were putting themselves into debt to do Christmas for everybody every single year, we started just doing a Dirty Santa game. Everybody brings one gift, and leaves with one gift.
Instead of a huge sit down meal on Christmas day, since I've been hosting at my house, I started just doing heavy appetizers and cookies, and putting a spread out that can sit out all day, so that nobody felt pressured to show up at any particular time and everybody just had nibbles to graze on. Several people bring dishes or desserts to add to the spread, and nobody leaves hungry.
It has brought the cost down for everybody, and means that the day is way more about spending time together than it is buying too much stuff that nobody needs....
DIY Christmas Gifts
:) I’ve recently gotten into making homemade magnets for the fridge with polymer clay. I just got some pin backs so that I can make broches and pins. It’s pretty easy and fun and I’d be happy to explain more if you decide to do it! I’ve made some for friends and family already, and customized to their interests. I literally just started so this is very rudimentary, but still fun!

Hi, so I need some ideas for Christmas gifts I can make for people that are inexpensive. I’m looking more for craft ideas than treats. Unfortunately, I broke my arm a few weeks ago and am out of work for a couple months so I can’t spend much money on supplies either, though I do have a decent amount of craft supplies. I can probably spend <$30 for the supplies.
Thanks!
