Hi,
so i have this uni design project which is basically an email newsletter for which people can sign up for with a qr code. Scanning the qr code takes the person to a sign up page i have coded. I designed and printed cards with the qr code on it so i can give it to people. So for the whole project to work i sort of depend on the qr code to work.
I generated the qr code with a website and appearently didnt pay enough attention, because yesterday i received an email that told me the qr code will expire in 3 days and that if i want to prevent it, i should sign up for the websites subscription service. Obviously i dont want to pay a monthly fee for the qr code to work but i also dont want the qr code to expire, because i already printed around 100 cards with the qr code.
Is there a way where i can keep the qr code, dont have to reprint it, but also dont have to spend money?

If it's a dynamic code that links to your URL through a redirect through their servers, then your only option is to pay up. If you don't, the redirect will be disabled and there's nothing you can do. First, tho, you might want to check what the code is actually doing. Some less reliable sites might be just scamming you to pay up when your code might actually be a static code. Use an online QR code decoder (there are lots out there ) to read what is currently embedded in it. If it is anything other than your intended URL, or has any other information in the code, it's redirecting.

Made a business card with a QR from a ‘free’ website, but now it leads to an ad, not my site. Aren’t QR codes just permanent links?
