DPD's phone support is not very helpful if you don't know German. Plus they'll not give you a clear answer and always say that we will update you without any reply later. A better way to reach DPD is by writing them an email, use Google translate to translate it to Deutsch. Another way is also to ask the sender to contact the local delivery partner in UK with your request. I will rant a bit, please don't mind me: I was in the same situation as you are, my packages were delayed by more than 45 days and all because the delivery driver couldn't read English and Deutsch in which we had put a note(HUGE) saying which doorbell to press as our names were not changed on the doorbell yet because of the Hausmeister being on vacation and only he knew the password of the doorbell. The Driver just updated that receiver is not present at the address and my packages were almost on the verge to being sent back to sender, and I had 9 of them. I was able to use email and also contact the sender to communicate with DPD to send the package again after a delay of 1½months and I had to stand in the balcony to see when the driver comes and ask him to wait while I come down and somehow make him understand that the name is not on doorbell and there is this HUGE note, but unfortunately he didn't know even German. But I did it like 4 times for my package in the cold January standing out in the balcony waiting for the DPD truck to arrive near my house and shouting to make the driver stay. I got all my packages but many items of glass were just destroyed in it, I took the L and I never select DPD for my courier, unless anyone does without my knowledge, then I just pray really hard for my package to come in one piece.
