Hi! I sell new running shoes. I currently do not accept returns and I ship same day. I have recently become a "Top Rated" seller. I have the option to join the Top Rated Plus Seller program which means I'd get 10% off selling fees and potentially more views/sales. However, I'd have to accept returns for 30 days and I'd be responsible for paying for the return. I am not sure if it's worth the hassle.
My question is if it is worth it. For those that have become Top Rated Plus Sellers have you experienced more views/sales? Also, what are the return rates for new running shoes? Any other advice or things to know would be appreciated.

It’s worth it for me but I don’t sell shoes or clothes. For what I sell returns are rare. Further as a TRS+ listing you can take a deduction if they wear the shoes, remove tags, etc. but I have no idea how that works if the shoes go through authentication.

I decided to do it about a year ago and discounts are worth it to me. I looked at it like this: I ship the next day anyway and I accept all returns anyways because people will just lie about the reason. This way I get some benefit from it. I very rarely get returns. About 200 items sold in last 90 days and only 1 return because they didn't want it (they were honest). Before I had returns on, I would get about 5 every 90 days that were false not as described claims. I think if people see you have free returns, they are more willing to not lie at least.
