The "SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION" error in Windows 11 usually indicates a problem with device drivers, hardware, or software conflicts. Restart and press F12 slowly to access the 1-time boot menu and select diagnostics. If the diagnostics return a code like 2000-0142 and a validation code, then you have a hardware failure and you need to contact Tech Support. If no errors and the HDD/SSD is detected, then you can try repairing Windows (the 3rd boot failure should trigger troubleshooting Windows automatically) If the SSD/HHD isn't detected, then it most likely needs replacement. \#Iwork4Dell Answer from DisgruntledPenguin58 on reddit.com

Hi Ryan, similar to this poster, I have a hard drive 'issue' with same error code. Here's what I posted elsewhere in the forum today [first time poster]. ============ My laptop was fine yesterday. Today, it won't boot to the Win 7 screen and cannot get it to work at all. The farthest I get is to 'part' of the Windows 7 main screen! Meaning the blue background, with the green grass sprig and the small white bird near it, both on the right of the screen. I also get a larger white arrow cursor that I can move, but there's nothing to point at. At power on is the Windows Error Recovery: - 'Launch start up repair (recommended)' or 'Start Windows normally' Choosing the first it shows- 'Windows is loading files' (it looks like a DOS type screen). I did the F8 Advanced Boot options diags and all ran fine except the drive test which showed: Error = 2000 0142, Validation 60891, H/D 0 s/n 5verss6e, Self test fail status 7 My Q: is.... Is it 'necessarily' a bad drive since I do get a simplistic Windows screen, or could it be something I can fix? Might a restore [don't have a disc] help? Any info is greatly appreciated. Regards, Golfguyyyy===============

2000-0145 has to do with a spin test. Dell actually had a stroke of genius to design a diagnostic that identified issues with HDDs spin-up and test a drive's integrity. An SSD lacks a motor and may not return an appropriate response for that portion of the test, throwing an immediate error. It's not a standard for an SSD to respond with a bypass for a test like this, since it is a proprietary test. Some SSDs may not report this error, while other models will. I had to do a lot of digging for this, and tried several SSDs to see how this error code would appear. Again, not all models would have it, but it was consistent among all drives of specific models. Was a huge 2 month headache & nightmare for me. So on SSDs, I would try other software, or another system to verify the integrity of an SSD before calling the drive bad. One model of SSD this happened on several drives was the OCZ Vertex 4 SATA III. Did it on all sizes that we tested: 128, 256, 512. Ran them on a custom build with various diagnostic tools: Drives had no issues. Many are still in production several months after running the tests.

[SOLVED] Dell Error Code 0141: What does it mean? How do you fix it?
Surely if your hard drive can’t be found, that means you have to buy a new hard drive (or, if your Dell PC is still under warranty, have them replace it) and accept that any files you had on your PC (documents, photos, music, videos, etc.) that weren’t backed up are gone forever, right? Not quite. A 0141 error can mean that your PC’s hard disk drive no longer works. But there are other causes for this error that you may actually be able to fix on your own.
