Tips to figure out what brands are actually ethical
Sana Jardin - ethical & sustainable luxury brand
Does this house explain exactly how their perfumes are more ethical/sustainable than others? Because for the most part, a lot of fragrances are made with aromachemicals, and to a lesser degree, natural extracts. But the aromachemicals were developed as an alternative to naturally sourced musks, etc. because of the no-no factor.
Sure, I suppose vetiver (Haitian, Bourbon, etc) is still naturally sourced, along with the bergamot. But I’d imagine given that these are extracts from a grass and an inedible orange, they should be fairly sustainable.
But by all means, bring on that organic, free-trade ISO E Super and ethically sourced artisan ambroxan (oh wait that would be ambergris, generally a no-no already).

I’ve been trying to be more conscious of what I buy and who I buy it from. I’ve been buying way less clothes and love shopping second hand but do like treating myself to buying new and good quality clothes I know will last me.
I’m used to checking the country of origin of clothes but still recognise there can be a lot of variation in human rights respect across factories and countries. The problem is that many brands (including fast fashion) now claim to be sustainable and I find it hard to recognise what brands are actually trying to be.
