I'm going through this same crap now with FedEx. Dropped off Google 6 pro on the 8/4 and still no tracking info. FedEx just denied my claim stating that the package never got acan into the system. Now Google is charging me for the phone. Never again will I use a drop box. More on reddit.com

FedEx OnSite locations in my service area (Chicago metro) are given a 5’x5’x5’ area to hold packages. Some locations stick to this, refusing anything that won’t fit, and others make space when that is full. All depends on how the store manager teaches their crew. And in our OnSite job aid, size/weight guidelines for acceptable hold packages are <55lbs and no edge can be greater than 40in long (which is also different from what the website says...). Refrain from contacting Fedex customer service at all costs. They are mindless beings that really have no clue or control over the delivery process. Unless you are filing a claim, all your local terminal for help. Moral of the story: Use your nearest Fedex Office or 3rd party authorized shipcenter that we make daily picks ups from. So, I usually ship with USPS, cause that physical location is all we have were I live. But the buyer wanted FedEx Ground Economy instead cause its cheaper. So I found a FedEx Drop Box and put the package in there.
But now I'm worried the items won't make it to them. And if I wanted to go to an actual FedEx location I'd have to drive more than an hour away. Thoughts?

When did you drop the package off? FedEx in my experience takes a bit to update. I personally hate FedEx but the buyer will eventually get their item. Usually people who request FedEx specifically are aware of the delays and know they get what they pay for. If it fit in the dropbox, I wouldn't worry about it. Just let the buyer know you dropped it off at a dropbox so it may take a day or two to update. Edit: Looks like the FedEx dropbox limits are 20" x 12" x 6". So, if you're within those dimensions (which I imagine you are since those boxes have tight openings usually), you should be fine regardless of weight.
