If time isn’t a concern, have FedEx office pack it for you and ask them for rate options and make sure you declare a value high enough to replace it if it were lost or damaged. If FedEx Office packs it for you, and the proper value is declared you are well covered. OneRate only applies to FedEx Express white packaging and a CPAP may well be too large for the largest Express branded box, roughly 12x11x11. Also an option to minimize the possibility of a porch pirate or misdelivery is to have the package held for pickup at a FedEx location near your father. More on reddit.com

I use the One-Rate envelopes a lot. You can sell them at a decent price point and it is better than dealing with USPS. With that said, our area has just went through the FedEx merger and it has been so bad I hesitate to sell Express stuff... More on reddit.com

In my experience, FedEx One Rate is cheaper for folks (with no shipping account, particular for Express Saver options). FedEx Standard Rate is cheaper for folks with shipping account discounts, unless they are wanting to use Express Saver, in which FedEx One Rate is cheaper. Essentially FedEx One Rate says that if you ship a package to a location, if you decide to ship another package a month or two later, it'll be the same price. Just makes things a tiny bit easier.
