r/drywall on Reddit: Festool is worth its weight in gold
February 22, 2024 - I’ve had a planex and extractor with the auto clean for about 10 years now. Cost $1300 back then but has sanded 1000’s of feet with almost zero dust. Absolute game changer for remodels when dust is a huge factor. I can remember the first time I used it and the customer just stood there with their mouth open, shocked that there was zero dust. ... Just bought two festools myself.

Festool Planex Drywall Sander Review - Tool Box Buzz Tool Box Buzz
June 5, 2021 - All Festool power tools include a 3-year wear-and-tear warranty, 2-day standard repair time, and 1-month satisfaction guarantee. This will probably read corny, but bear with me! I truly enjoyed using the new redesigned Planex LHS 2 225 EQI- Plus. I feel this sander has been well thought out by Festool.

The Planex 2 actually seems to ... material. The dust extraction is very good on the 2 where I had issues with the original and feeling like the dust extraction was poor no matter the adjustments I made....

Drywall contractor's review of Planex/CT36AC | Festool Owners Group
May 4, 2012 - The Planex is useful for removing textures, sanding between the 2nd and final coat, and sanding skimmed ceilings. A final sand with light and sponge is still required for paint grade. The dust reduction is impressively effective, but not completely dustless. For 100% dustless appropriate barriers ...

Festool Planex 2 + CT 15 vs. CT 36 AC | Festool Owners Group
December 10, 2024 - Do you think it'd be worthwhile ... the Planex one)? From the manual and looking online, it seems like it would provide more suction than the 27mm CT 15 default, which should translate to performance/comfort. Click to expand... You definitely need to use a 36mm hose, the 27mm hose doesn't have enough volume. AND the Festool 577101 hose ...

Tool Review: Festool Planex Sander and Cleantec Dust Extractor
June 27, 2025 - When I received the Planex sander (LHS 2-M 225 EG) and the CleanTec vacuum (CT36 E AC) from Festool, I was hoping for something with significant improvements, as I’ve been using the Festool sanders for years. I have been happy with those sanders, but I was hoping for a chance to report on ...

I agree with Scott as far as the soft pad conversion kit, I also think it's a must!! It was like night and day! Naturally, because I was unexperienced with the Planex, I started with 320 just to get a handle on things, even with the 320, it was gouging like crazy!

It's especially bad when I repair ceilings. I have used sanding pads that connect to a Shop vac, but it just makes it difficult to sand with the hose and suction. It's almost dust free, but physically harder.
