January 17, 2021 - Our Galaxy Buds Live review only deemed them worthy of three stars and concluded: "They produce a hefty and full-bodied sound, but it’s a sound that lacks dynamism and excitement." Fingers crossed the Buds Pro are more competitive in the sonic department, and they'll need to be, given their price tag.

Who shouldn't get the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro?

Those with significant nickel, acrylate sensitivities or allergies will potentially be exposed to the materials via the earbuds—however unlikely it is. Some users have reported discomfort and reactions to recent Samsung earphones with these materials. Reportedly, Samsung has been investigating the matter and assisting customers who report troubles to them directly. However, the earphones in question aren’t the only ones with this exposure potential, so if you’re sensitive to these materials, please be mindful of your return policy no matter what you buy.

Is it worth upgrading from the Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus?

Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus owners may want to upgrade to the Galaxy Buds Pro for the effective noise canceling technology. Other benefits include Samsung 360 Audio, which works with any Dolby Atmos content when played from a Samsung Galaxy device (One UI 3.1 or later). If neither of those things appeal to you, and you don’t care for the more water-resistant build of the Galaxy Buds Pro, save some money and stick to the Galaxy Buds Plus. The Buds Plus still has some of the best standalone battery life around, and supports many of the same features as the Buds Pro.

September 1, 2022 - No such luck with the Galaxy Buds Pro. They're your standard ‘twist-to-fit’ arrangement – although at a shade less than 2.1cm long, they’re a little more ostentatious in situ than quite a few alternatives. Hey everyone, I wanted to share my thoughts on the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro that I've been using for almost a week now. Overall, I'm really impressed! Here are some of the things I like most:

  • Clear redesigned case: You can easily check if the earbuds are in the case even if it's closed.

  • Lighter weight: The redesigned buds feel lighter since they touch less of your ear, more of the mass is hanging in the stem.

  • Improved sound quality: Compared Galaxy Buds 2, the bass and mids are improved, and the ANC is more powerful, especially in the lows

  • Bluetooth pairing button on the case: Makes it easy to use with more non- Samsung devices

  • Advanced voice controls: There are voice controls for volume, playback, and more that work instantly without needing a wake word. These are reliable and work in loud environments. Plus they work instantly.

  • Redesigned touch controls: More precise and easier to use than the previous generation. A few things to keep in mind:

  • Side sleeping: The buds are impossible for side sleepers due to the stem design. The outside of the buds is essentially a triangle. That means, when you are against a pillow/mattress, it's like having an upside down triangle balance on a flat surface. It doesn't work, it's uncomfortable, and they will get pushed up.

  • Limited light customization: The light bar effects are limited and cannot be turned on through the app. But you can turn them off Why? Also, the lights are bright enough to be seen by others in public. They also photograph quite nicely

  • Adaptive mode: I found Adaptive mode is a gimmick. I would disable associated features (ambulance awearness) since it has a lot of false positives. Feel free to ask any questions you have about my experience in the comments below!

  • Find My improvements: we all know find my sucks on Buds Pro 2, and lower. It has been improved! I don't want to call it "good" per say. Since it lacks UWB, and case speaker of Airpods Pro 2. But it is at an almost acceptable place. These successfully where able to be tracked several times, even using Smarttthings find network. Plus they have "lost mode" so the buds lock to your samsung account. Also, when you ping your buds, they light up (and you can see this light if they are in the case!)

Edit: Samsung provided me with the buds

Though it may not have the best ANC (or fit, in my case), its sound and build quality is enough to compete with the best TWS earbuds around. Yes, I am a little salty about Samsung’s decision to shift to the Airpods-like form factor (which is why I titled this review so), but I’ll give credit where credit is due; I have no doubt most purchasers will be satisfied with the Galaxy Buds3 Pro.
