Why do Mafiosos dress like in outdated fashion?
Tried to go for the Mobster look. How did I do?
How did mobsters style change around the early 2000s?

Richie Aprile’s wardrobe is mocked, because it was incredibly out of date, but when you consider it, so are all the mobsters’.
I’m excusing older guys like Junior, Paulie, Feech and Phil because they were already old men when we first meet them, and older people tend to stick with what they wore when younger.
But consider Tony’s generation, and Chris’. We see in both the flashback to 1975 and in stills from Many Saints that Tony had long hair and wore t shirts, jeans and corduroys as a teenager. Which for someone of his generation was fashionable.
But adults, Tony, Chris, Johnny Sack, Silvio etc all wear slacks and polos or dress shirts all the time, all wear wingtips or loafers, all wear at points the jogging outfits. Their style is stuck somewhere between the 1950s and early 1980s.
I mean how many guys Chris’s age wore some of the things he wears especially in the 90s or early 2000s? Once in a while we’ll see him wearing jeans but very rarely.
I mean, just why? I doubt for example the Mexican cartel dresses like that. Even in the Sopranos we see the actual Italian Mafia is much more casual (IE Furio with his ponytail and the other members wearing casual lounge type wear).
So why is it the case for the NY-NJ Italians that they’re stuck in the past fashion wise?
