I don't know my gmail password and the only recovery option google is giving me is to use my school email. I graduated a few years ago and that email no longer exists. Google says to use a familiar device and wifi network. I am using the same device and wifi network that I have used to access my email since 2015. Is there any hope to getting back into my gmail account?

Update: I tried logging in on the chrome profile associated with my gmail recently after giving up for a few days and when I clicked "Try Another Way" it let me enter an email address to send a code to. I entered the code correctly and then it said it would send me a sign in link in 48 hours so things are looking good right now :)

I set up a gmail account years ago, using a phone number. I no longer have that phone number.
I tried signing into that gmail account (I remember the password) but it told me that I needed to confirm a code that was sent to the phone number used to set it up.
Now Gmail will not let me sign in.
What do I do now? Does google seriously expect people to retain all their phone numbers for the rest of their lives? These rules are RIDICULOUS.

If you don't have the phone number or another recovery email address, you can't access the account. The rules aren't ridiculous. It was your own responsibility to update your phone number and your Google security settings before you got rid of the phone number. You could contact whoever has the number now and see if they are willing to give you the code.

I am literally experiencing the same issue right now 🥲. I know the password but the number is from a different phone. I am waiting to get to the screen that asks questions or something but haven’t gotten there yet

So basically forgot my gmail password and when i try to sign in and go to the enter password and try another way and try to recower account it says this: You can’t recover your account at this time because Google doesn’t have enough info to be sure this account is yours.
If you want to create a new account to use Google’s services, be sure to add a recovery phone or email address and keep them up to date.
If your account is managed with Family Link, we‘ve sent an email to your parent to change your password. Please help

Without a recovery email address or a recovery phone number set for your Google account, there is no way for Google to confirm your identity to allow you to reset your password.

I have the same problem with one of my accounts I used to backup my photos. 8 months of my existence (while I was vacationing as well) just gone. I enter the correct password and I get this infinite loop. I even tried "forgot email" even though I know the correct email, and magically, none of my emails is connected to this email. So it seems fishy as if someone hacked it! I would be glad if someone could help out as I desperately need these pictures :/

My gut reaction is that you have lost it if you can't help yourself with the recovery options. It may sound mean, but it is that way to protect against hackers where emails are tied to other accounts for ID verification. Do the best you can following Google's suggestions.
