For those that have devices that only use physical SIM cards, be aware that obtaining a replacement is difficult. You cannot find them at local retailers anymore. Google Fi support will tell you that you can purchase them at Best Buy, Target, Walmart stores; or Amazon. All of their websites are either sold out or do not show that the cards are available either.
Ordering direct from Google Fi can take a week or more and tracking details are limited.

I'm stateside I had to order mine directly through Google Fi. This was after the Google Fi rep told me that SIM cards are available at Walmart Target and Best buy. None of that is true. Took about 4 days from the time I ordered it till the time it was delivered. It was super easy to set up service on my Samsung Galaxy S series phone so far I'm really impressed with Google Fi.

I'm a Canadian that works/lives in the US, but due to COVID-19 I'm stuck in Canada for a while. I wanted to keep my US number since it's what I use for work, so I decided to switch to Google Fi.
Following advice here (and here), I got ExpressVPN to change my phone's IP to Los Angeles in order to activate my Google Fi plan in Canada. The app says it was successful. Calls over Wifi work, but I get no data or can't send or make calls without Wifi. Every network here, Rogers, Bell, Telus, and Freedom, are all listed as forbidden.
After working with Google Fi support, I eventually got an email response saying:
"Unfortunately we can’t grant you an exception at this time. Your international capabilities will remain suspended until we're able to determine that your service is being primarily used in the US as per our Terms of Service. Please make sure to prepare an alternate course of action."
I completely understand this, however I've seen a lot of opposite accounts online from people saying they were able to activate Fi in Canada without issue by using a VPN. Is Google Fi now cracking down on this or did I just get unlucky? I'm on a Pixel 4.
Has anyone successfully activated Fi outside of the US using a VPN?

Mine works fine when I’m in Canada, but I did register it in the US when starting. Make sure that you’ve gone through the whole setup and have changed you cellular network data settings. This was reset after an iOS update for me and had to be reconfigured before I could get data working in Canada again.

The sim card in my phone is on the fritz. It has been disconnecting several times a day, and each time it takes 15 minutes up to get it to work again.
When I talked to support they said I should replace the sim card, that it is free from them or a credit if I buy it from a store, but not a single store in my area sells them. Target doesn't even have it on their website, Best Buy is online only, amazon doesn't have it. Is there a secret store I am missing? I have looked online and have found no other options, and ordering it from google fi will take a week.

I ran into this twice in the past two weeks. Support said to visit Best Buy, Target, or.. I forget the other place. Best Buy closest to me had one when I stopped in 3 or so weeks ago, but none more recently (nor a spot), and target didn't even have a hook with a tag that said Fi. I'm wondering if the physical Fi SIMs in stores are going away or what's going on there. With the track record I've been seeing with the physical SIMs, it seems like needing replacements are going to be a continuous thing
