Google Pixel 7a Review - I Love it, BUT... 🤦🏻‍♂️ — Aaron x Loud and Wireless
May 11, 2023 - So a lot of what I don’t like about this device has to do with its screen, and if that’s all I’m looking at, I wouldn’t buy the Pixel 7a. But If I don’t want to spend too much money, but I still do want to shoot great pictures and video with great mic pickup, stock Android experience, first to receive all the updates, I’ll definitely go for the Google Pixel 7a.

Google Pixel 7A: 3 Months Later, It's Still a Great Affordable Pick - CNET
August 19, 2023 - Google's Pixel 7A dropped in May with a $500 price tag. James Martin/CNET · When I reviewed the Pixel 7A back in May, I praised it for its sleek design, great cameras and resemblance to the pricier Pixel 7.

Pixel 7a owners, how are you liking the phone?
I love the way it looks, the UI is really smooth too, No problems with the fingerprint sensor. I got a clear case because I really like the look of the 7a, Only one thing I am concerned about is the battery life. I have the 7a for 3 days now and it has not been great. I have been pretty busy these last couple of days, so I did not have a lot of screen time, but I am barely getting one day out of the battery, I have read adaptive battery needs a couple of day / 2 weeks to optimize, and I hope that's really true. For example, today, right now after charging 100% it has been 13:30 hours I have a little more then 2 hours of screentime, I mostly used the camera and browsed the internet, but it is now showing 28% left. I already disabled 5G and te lift of option so the screen wont turn on every time I pick it up, I have adaptive screen brightness turned on, paused app activity if unused for facebook, twitter and instagram. But it is still draining way to fast. For a brand new phone this is really concerning me, I came from a secondhand galaxy S8+ the last couple of months I had to charge it maybe two times a day to keep it charged but that phone was allready 3 + years old. Idle the Galaxy s8+ is still going strong, but the 7a not so much. More on reddit.com

r/GooglePixel on Reddit: Pixel 7a 1 month review - I was wrong... Buy it
June 10, 2023 -

After around 10 days I posted on this sub confirming that I'd be returning the phone. Because although the performance was great (it even plays Xbox cloud games perfectly), and it looks beautiful and has all the latest pixel features, the battery didn't even last a day and it was too hot to use.

After some comments advising that I keep it for another week or 2 and that I'd see the improvements, I decided to trust my fellow pixel fans and stick with it. And boy did it pay off, I'm currently writing to you all from London, 30 degrees Celsius (86 Fahrenheit), in a park right underneath the sun, and it is cool to the touch. It has been so for the past week or so, have had no issues whatsoever. Had some app updates which completely got rid of the overheating. And the battery...it has adapted to my usage perfectly, it now gives me nearly twice more the screen time as it did previously.

So tl:Dr > one month in, I'd highly recommend this phone

Google Pixel 7a Review: A Pixel 7, for Less - Tech Advisor
Google Pixel 7a review
The Pixel 7a is another excellent mid-range phone from Google that blurs the line between flagship phone and affordable option. Few phone brands make mid-rangers like Google does these days. Its Pixel A-series phones are direct descendants of the company’s flagships, with so much shared DNA that at times they feel like flagships in their own right.   That’s never been truer than with the Pixel 7a, which once again shares the chipset of the flagships it follows, but now throws in the same display tech and wireless charging to complete the illusion that this is a Pixel 7 in all but name.  A sl

May 21, 2023 - The Pixel 7a costs £449, which is £50 more expensive than its predecessor. However, for that, you get quite a phone – at least on paper. The 7a packs in the latest Google Tensor G2 chip, 8GB of RAM, a 6.1-inch display, and a 64MP main camera system.

May 16, 2023 - It’s a nice implementation of the classic two-tone design that Google phones have been known for for years. The camera bump on the Pixel 7a is much less pronounced than that on the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro. And every person who saw my review unit’s new Sea colour gushed over it; it really does ...

June 13, 2023 - The new phone has the firm’s top Tensor G2 chip from the Pixel 7 and the same amount of RAM and storage. That makes the 7a faster and more powerful than the mid-range competition and on-par with top-end phones.

Google Pixel 7a Review: Pixel 7, Meet Your Replacement
For the Pixel 7a, Google appears to have addressed those three concerns, at least on paper. We got a 90Hz refresh rate, battery life that could see improvement through a new processor, and a brand new camera system. Thankfully, Google sent me a 7a to review and I’ve had a solid couple of weeks with it to tell you if they really did fix the problems from the 6a.
