So, I got laid off during Jan 2023 mass layoffs. Since then, I joined another major financial bank and have been working since. Recently, I applied for an open role at Google and a recruiter reached out to me for initial conversation. It’s for the same level and same org (Google cloud) as I was in, back in 2023. The recruiter mentioned that the hiring manager was interested in my profile.
What to expect? Will I have to go through all the interviews?
Do I need to go through hiring assessment? I did not go through it last time I interviewed.
Anything else I should be aware of before talking to the recruiter?
Any specific questions to ask?
Sorry but I’m feeling too nervous.! Thanks!

As a TPM, I am in charge of executing major technical programs like new features for customers. I don’t do any technical development myself, but I have to understand both the business needs and the technical implementation details and am ultimately responsible for making the project successful. The job can be stressful but it is interesting and I work with talented and hard-working colleagues. I work about 50 hours a week.
I have about 10 years of experience in the industry (I studied something irrelevant in college and did some other stuff out of school before learning how to code).
I work remotely in a LCOL city but travel frequently to HQ on the west coast. Thus I can make my money stretch further.
As a side note, I came to this country as a 17 year old from a poor country with no money and all my possessions in a suitcase, but with a full scholarship to an American college. Thus my American Dream has definitely come true, but I acknowledge the huge amounts of luck, privilege, and hard work it took.
