Hi All,
We're in the process of doing a 3 year renewal for our Google Workspace licensing. Currently we're looking at a 77% increase in Workspace Enterprise Plus Licensing, and a 86% increase in Workspace Enterprise Standard. This feels insane! Is everyone else dealing with the same thing?
Has anybody upgraded Google Workspace one user license from the pro to enterprise? If so do you know how much it cost for that one license per month?
Starting mid-March 2025, Google Workspace will introduce new pricing across all SKUs and roll Google AI features (Gemini for Workspace) directly into its Business and Enterprise plans. This update marks the end of the standalone Gemini SKU, streamlining AI capabilities into the Workspace experience.
If you’re currently on a flexible plan, the following prices will apply starting March 17, 2025. Commitment plan users will maintain their current pricing during their contract term.
| Workspace Edition | Annual Plan | Flexible Plan |
|---|---|---|
| Business Starter | $7.00 USD | $8.40 USD |
| Business Standard | $14.00 USD | $16.80 USD |
| Business Plus | $22.00 USD | $26.40 USD |
| Enterprise Standard | $27.00 USD | $32.40 USD |
| Enterprise Plus | $35.00 USD | $42.00 USD |
You might consider switching your subscription to a Annual or multi-year commitment plan to lock in cost savings before then. If you have an actively managed account, reach out to your Google Sales Point of contact. For SMB customers, reach out to a Google Workspace Partner. A few to suggest include: Wursta, HiView Solutions, and 66 Degrees.
Just curious to know how much do you guys pay for Google drive workspace enterprise? Thanks
Contacted support, was told I won't know what the price change is until 30 days before it increased.
Anyone got anything more concrete than that or is it genuinely on a "per customer" basis? I pay USD$20/month/user for 5 users currently to hit the tier that support allows for Drive quota increases.
Edit: I'm primarily looking for an answer to the question in the title: has anyone with an Enterprise Standard plan with less than 10 users received any information on the upcoming global price change?
From the email:
"We’re writing to let you know that earlier this year we announced pricing changes to Google Workspace products that took effect for new and existing customers starting March 2023. These pricing changes will go into effect for your organization starting February 5, 2024.
Your subscription price will be automatically updated with one or more of the following pricing changes starting February 5, 2024:
Enterprise Standard subscription global list price has increased."
From support:
I would like to inform you that as of now only notification has been sent to the customers and in january 2024 you will get complete pricing details over an email.
Hi,
There's been quite some FUD going around about Google Workspace, so let me talk to you about how I upgraded just now to unlimited storage as a single user.
I was on the €10/month business plan before and currently have around 28TB of data on Google Drive; this includes backups of my git server, multiple websites, sample libraries (those add up _fast_), created music / video content in raw quality, family photos and videos, old HDD disk images from computers long-gone, incremental backups for my personal mail server. (lol, not using gmail) etc.
Today I got the mail to look into transitioning to Google Workspace.
The enterprise accounts are, by default, a bit of hidden, but they're available in your Google Admin panel regardless.
The Enterprise Standard plan offers "unlimited storage" for €17.30 / month.
Here's my single user account with usage report:
Albeit €17,30 is more than €10,00, it's still cheap enough :-) I guess the USD pricing will be similar to this.
There also is no 5-user minimum. From the fine print on the pricing page:
Business Starter, Business Standard, and Business Plus plans can be purchased for a maximum of 300 users. There is no minimum or maximum user limit for Enterprise plans.
So here I am, a one-man enterprise. :-)
What are the per-user prices. I really believe Google should be more transparent about their standard pricing for those plans.
Can anyone please share their current pricing for those plans. Thank you!
We'd love to hear about new updates or discounts for Google Workspace (formerly G Suite)
I'm getting messages from Google Workspace that the prices are going up in February. I cannot tell if I opt to go annual instead of flexible, if I have to prepay the entire amount for the year, upfront. It appears these are only accounts that I managed before the legacy migration fiasco. Anyone have any insight if the legacy accounts that were migrated to paid WorkSpace accounts are doing this also, and if so, when? I have some clients that were paying ZERO before, not paying in the 3 figures per month for email and I'll just have to bump their email up a lot more but for the accounts with one or two email addresses, I could probably swing the upfront fee.
Just received an email from Google to say the cost of the subscription has gone up again. The justification is AI and additional functions that we have no use for.
We are a small business with about 20 accounts several of which we only use for the email address. It would be great if Google offered cheaper versions of the subscription for email only or accounts that didn't require storage.
Has anyone here transferred from Google to an alternative or found a way to reduce the cost of the Google subscription?
Thanks
I still see here and there on this subreddit information that you can officially get unlimited Google Drive on Workspace Enterprise Standard account having just one user..
This is false:
Google Support:
I just have a confirmation from different team and yes the article is correct and following the old Scheme. Which means you need 5 users or more to have unlimited storage for Enterprise Standard edition.
2)
Does this apply only to old GSuite business accounts upgrading to Workspace Enterprise Standard accounts or does it apply to buying a Workspace Business account and then switching to Workspace Enterprise Standard account?
Google Support:
The scheme applies on both old and new SKU.
3)
And on a side note.. Does Enterprise Plus also require 5 users to get unlimited google drive?
Google Support:
That's correct. Both Enterprise Standard and Plus requires 5 users.
So, it's the same as with the old Busuness accounts. Yes, it is working for now, but Google can pull the plug at any time.
So, just keep this in mind.
PS To see the article mentioned in the chat, just go to Billing, Upgrade, select Standard or Plus plan and click "Upgrade" , then click "Detailed comparison". Don't worry, you won't be upgraded right away.
Hello,
I see people saying that they're limited to 5TB/account on new accounts for Google Workspace Enterprise edition, and others say it's unenforced.
I'm talking about shared drives, are they unlimited or not, in other words, will they count towards my 5TB limit (if a limit exists at all) or not?
Please comment if you know about recently created accounts. Thank you.
I have Google Workspace Enterprise Standard (1 user) and it says you get as much cloud storage as you need but I'm getting 5TB. Can any one tell me why?
Last year I set up rclone on my Unraid server with a new G Suite Business subscription. I now have over 250 TB stored in that drive that gets synced weekly, an absolutely amazing deal for $12/mo.
I received an email today about transitioning from G Suite to Google Workspace, with various pricing tiers. Business Standard seems to be replacing what I have, which is also $12/mo but with a 2 TB limit. Business Plus is $18/mo and 5 TB. The mysterious Enterprise tier advertises unlimited storage, but a Contact Sales button under pricing that screams "if you have to ask, you can't afford it."
Does anyone know what will happen? Is anyone in a similar situation doing anything to prepare for the switch (supposed to occur on Jan 31, 2022)?
See this (https://www.reddit.com/r/DataHoarder/comments/qq970m/google_begins_to_send_out_emails_regarding/)
As I said in the comments in that post:
This has been going on for months. That's when mine came. Move to Workplace Enterprise Standard and roll on.
Most upvoted comment in the thread. Still unlimited Gdrive for a single user, now $20/mo for the Enterprise Std. plan.
Just buy the business one and use shared drives they are unlimited space (400k files I think each one can hold maximum) but you can just create various team drives and split it across. That's what I have done.
I know this topic comes back every few months on this sub, but now I think they are really preparing to drop unlimited even for 5 x licenses.
They have changed their pricing page https://workspace.google.com/intl/en/pricing.html and Enterprise says currently :
As much storage as you need* - *Google will provide an initial 5 TB of pooled storage for each user. Customers who want additional storage can request it as needed by contacting Google Support.
I have contacted support yesterday and after a long unclear talk they have said:
Google Workspace Support : Yes. You can add as much storage as you need. If you are in enterprise edition.
Google Workspace Support : You may also go through the below link to check the price plan https://workspace.google.com/pricing.html
Me: yes it also says "*Google will provide an initial 5 TB of pooled storage for each user. Customers who want additional storage can request it as needed by contacting Google Support." so I was asking if I can ask support unlimited number of times or is it limited and is such increase of space free
Google Workspace Support : Yes, you are right. Currently with one user you would get 1 TB storage however, if you don't want to increase more users you can simply add more storage to one user.
Me : yes, and how would I add that storage space to that one user ?
Google Workspace Support : Sure. I will let you know how you can add the storage. Please follow the below steps:
1.In your Google Admin console (at admin.google.com)...
2.Go to Apps > Google Workspace
3.Click on Additional services
4.At the top right, click Add Services.
5.In the left nav, click Google Workspace add-ons.
6.Below Google Drive storage, click Get Started.
Google Workspace Support : >You can follow the instructions to review the pricing and payment plan, read and accept the Terms of Service for Google Drive storage, and select your payment method (incurs no charges). >Assign licenses to users. Your payment method will now be charged only for the licenses you assign.
Its really messed up, each time I am contacting them they are always giving me different answer, but if I understood it correctly you can have "unlimited" even with one user as long as you buy additional 5TB licenses so each license gives you 5TB ( when above 5 licenses ? ) so if you wanted 100TB you would need to buy 20 licenses...
I have contacted them again today to clarify on that but they didn't know anything and told me to contact sales representative via phone.
I Really wish Google clarified that and do not give such half answers all the time.
I am not sure how such huge company can even exist with such unclear rules for their own products and still have customers huh.
I also wish instead of constantly downvoting people would speak up whats on their mind.
Hello. I have a question with Google Workspace.
In Google policies, Enterprise Standard plan provides unlimited storage when user is more than 5.
But I heard this is just policies, and actually it provides unlimited storage with only one user.
I'm in free trial, when I check in the storage page, it shows unlimited.
But what happens when the free trial ends?
Thanks.
Try it. Nothing to lose. Wait until the trial ends and see if you keep the unlimited. They may allow you for some time but no guarantees. They may impose it once they notice your usage.
Personally I paid for the 5 accounts to get the u limited. Still cheaper than other plans.
The latest Workspace pricing page says, "Enterprise plan customers have 5 TB of pooled storage per user and can request additional storage if needed by contacting Google Support."
So, when you need more, just request it. I have heard of cases of single-user accounts getting more storage than the default, but I have not tried it myself (mine is Business Standard).

Hi all l was wondering if l'm the only one the has this problem with the Google pricing model. My situation is that I'm an admin for a small video production company. We are 20 people and my boss wants us to move everything to the Google workspace. Now we need only one enterprise account 30$ to get the unlimited (750GB per day) upload and the rest of the team should get the 6$ account since they only use it for Daly reporting. Now Googel tells us that all workers must be in the same plan, meaning every coworker needs to get a enterprise plan for 30$ per month. The sails person told us we can't mix a standard workspace 6$ with a enterprise workspace 30$ per month. Any thoughts on this? Thank you.
If you take business plus you'll get 3 tb per user. So with 20 licenses that would be 60 tb in total for your domain. Also you have shared drives which keep having unlimited storage (correct me if I'm wrong!)
Unlike Microsoft, Google requires everyone on the same plan. So yes, all would need to be the $30/mo plan if that is your requirement. Check with support, but Shared Drives do not impose this limitation and that can be obtained with a cheaper plan than the $30/mo one.
Also, what are you using Google Drive for with needing such a high upload? You might need to look at Google Cloud Storage solutions instead with buckets. You can get file transfer software through a place like CloudBerry and everyone is accessing the data through their Google accounts.
