I bought the 150 ft Outdoor Pro lights, plus one 16.4 ft extension (10 light segments total). I will also be using two of the short extension cables and one long extension cable.
The instructions say that a driver module is necessary for anything more than 150 ft, so I bought one. I just did a dry run with all my light segments and extension cables, and all the lights seem to illuminate fine without the driver module. Was I wrong in assuming that I need a driver module for my purpose? Should I return it, or go ahead and install it just in case?
Hello all. I have 150ft of outdoor permanent lights hung incorrectly on my house. I hired someone to hang them and they did it wrong. I have hired someone else to re-hang them but I threw away the installation guide. Does anyone have a copy they can scan or take a picture of? Thank you.
I’ve hired someone to install the pro version of the outdoor lights for me and they’re almost finished with the install. They’ve already used all of the extensions that were provided and had to make some of his own, so we might be exceeding the 200ft limit by 30ft since I want the lights to wrap around the side of the house. Our concern is that the lights might start to flicker if I exceed the limit and may burn out the adapter/power box. What are my options?
I was wondering if I would be able to connect a second driver module to the end of the 200ft and continue along the side of the home? Or would I have to use the adapter from the second set and start from there? Will connecting another driver module burn out the power box/adapter? Thanks!
I installed the 150ft permanent outdoor lights pro a couple weeks ago. I installed them on a 1 floor house with two arches. The front side is not straight across since the middle area is receded until you get to the garage. One of the arches is above the garage door. The garage also has a small roof overhang that is between it and the arch. The garage is also extended on the side.
I ran the lights across the front following the arches and going all the way to the corner of the house and towards the back yard for 7ft. I then used two extension cords to get the line back to the little overhang above the garage. I ran the final string of lights across that and it stops about 3 or 4ft before the end.
I want to buy one more string of lights and a driver module to complete the house. I hesitate because it seems like the driver module is supposed to be installed after the 5th string of lights. I can do this if I have to but I was hoping I could install the driver module between the 8th and 9th string of lights. Will that work or am I stuck adding it after the 5th string?
I say try it where you want to put it and see if it works! If not then go put it between 5 and 6. You won’t have to rerun all your lights - just insert the driver and tuck it to the front or back of your soffit.
Just posting an update. I ended up installing the driver module after the 8th string of lights and 1st extension cord. That worked and allowed me to add an extra string of lights after the 9th.
