I used to manually keep track of where I can find the best price per unit for an item on an Excel sheet, but I wanted to know if there's an app/program that automatically tracks which grocery store has the best price for an item if I scan my receipt? Or something along those lines. It's been tedious for me to compare prices and update my own guide, so I haven't been keeping up with it. I've been considering switching from primarily shopping from Sprouts to Trader Joe's, but I believe the decision would be easier to make if I had a sort of price comparison app.
Much love to this subreddit! The tips I've read under other posts have been tremendously helpful, and I'm thankful anyone that write tips for this post too.
Given the interest in my comment a few days ago about the spreadsheet I use to track the cheapest store for the branded items that make up my grocery orders, I have created a copy and opened it to edits as a few have requested.
Please feel free to add items with prices and links. The sheet will auto-highlight the cheapest, second cheapest and most expensive store per item.
Known bug : the occurrence % rows at the top don't auto-update for every edit.
