Anyone ever use Lowe's or Home Depot to do a bathroom or kitchen renovation in your home? How'd it go?
We did. Work wasn't too bad, but pay attention. They didn't secure the subfloor correctly, so the first time we walked on teh new tile floor we could see it moving. We told them where to get the tile (we had purchased it) and they pulled it all up and laid an additional layer of plywood down. I also had to stop them from just tiling over an open junction box they found (the vanity had flipped from one wall to the other and the the previous owner (had to be him based on finished), an electrical contractor who owned his own company, had left live wires behind a fiberglass shower wall. We called in an electrician to fix it correctly. Basically, you'll get less experienced contractors, but HD/Lowes is weilding a big stick on your behalf (enough customer complaints and their business dries up). We think our contractors mostly did apartment maintenance; the floors & electrical were a bit alarming, but we caught it and were pretty happy with the results. If you aren't as aware of whats right, it might be better to stick with a more experienced contractor; though I've seen crappy work from them too. EDIT: I should note, we split the work, because I didn't want them messing with my Plaster (1876 house); they wanted to cover it all with 1/4 drywall, I didn't want to give up a 1/2" of space (2 wall) and have learned to love the solidity of old plaster More on reddit.com

Fin! Well sorta - but this shower is nearly there and we are SO close to a completed primary bathroom and a happy wife! Just like I did for the wall of the bathroom, I used @Daltile Secora Sandstone large format tiles for the bathroom. Why? Because there are so many options (just look at what I chose for the walls and the shower - so perfect!) and 2) because you can shop Daltile at my home away from home, @The Home Depot All of the tile I used in this bathroom are linked on my LTK (LINK Here) Ok … now let’s really get this done. #DiditWithDal #HomeDepotandDaltile #DaltilePartner | TikTok

We had our first consultation and it seems like a great way to sync up many of the moving pieces into a nice funnel. However, I have my doubts on a big box type company handling it all. Give me the scoop reddit!
*PS - if you are unsure, this is not just home depot, the home depot design center is a separate type thing.

Its completely luck of the draw. Home Depot just subs the work out, sometimes you get a great sub, sometimes the worst. Personally, I would rather find my own.

I was using planner 5d but they changed it so the free version doesn't allow you to modify the size objects. Any suggestions? I'm not unwilling to pay but hate the idea when I rarely use it. Really it's just for kitchens so I can get the exact layout of cabinets.

When I remodeled my personal residence, I took measurements and pictures of the kitchen and Home Depot worked with me (for free) to design the new layout. It's not exactly what you're asking for, but it was free, and I had no obligation to purchase the cabinet from Home Depot.
